I actually purchased the whole CD and it's undeniably awesome. I wish they'd included the themes from Castlevania, Mega Man and Street Fighter though.

The Mario theme is amazing, but the best track on the whole CD is a toss up between the Tetris theme and the Final Fantsy Main theme.

Amazon had the mp3 album for $5 last time I checked. Well worth the purchase.

As someone who first played Angry Birds on a Nokia N900 tablet years ago, I can honestly say I was into it before it was mainstream. I remember telling people about it and people looking at me weird. "You throw birds at pigs? WTF?"

Angry Birds sucks and is a total rip off of other physics games and you are dumb if you like it. I have fantastic taste in video games and much prefer many other titles.

I know that this is kinda gimicky, getting the London Philharmonic to play computer game tunes, but I seriously approve of this. Too many young people these days thing that classical music is 'crap'. Also, bear in mind that their definition of 'classical music' is very, very broad. Basically, anything played by an orchestra is classical music and thus 'crap'. Hopefully things like this will make them realize that yes, an orchestra can play more than Mozart and no, it isn't all 'crap'.

I feel really passionately about this considering that orchestra's seem to be going into decline the world over and I don't think that young kids realize what we will be loosing. They forget that most of the films, TV shows and yes, even games that they love more often than not have at least some music played by an orchestra.

Almost as cool as the Angry Birds Christmas Lights (new window).

It's worth remembering the number of classical music pieces that started their life as dance hall accompaniment and operatic / ballet themes.

Music for music's sake is a minority state, historically.

A+. Would laugh again.

By the time the piece draws to a close, the experience is as giddy and satisfying as solving a particularly difficult Angry Birds level on the first try, and getting the full three-star reward in the process.

I can barely imagine the kind of pathetically blinkered spirit that could either write or read that seriously. This is the range of experience of your being? This is the depth of your emotion? This is the height of your intellect?

Don't look now, Cecile Cloutier, but your soul has gone missing.

Came to say this. They crushed it.

So, you've got space for Angry Birds, but not Total Annihilation?

Like having a list of greatest classical pieces and choosing Chopsticks over Mozart's overture to The Marriage of Figaro.

Yup! There's a reason by soap operas are called "operas": the plots are pretty much the same.

Movies and video games are the current leading edge of classical music. (BTW, anybody else heard the orchestral arrangements of The Legend of Zelda that were posted on YouTube recently? My inner ten-year-old and my inner music geek were fangirling like mad.)

I got the album last month, and I love it. I don't play Angry Birds, but I loved the London Philharmonic's arrangement anyway. It's a great piece.

I'm saddened that I don't know most of those songs on the album, nor played their respective games. I don't know where (adult) gamers find the time.

I got the album when amazon had it on sale for $3. Great album. The best song on there is Korobeiniki from Tetris.
