Um, duh?

If you don't have to look at someone or actually speak to them, it's a hell of a lot easier to lie. Some people can lie right to other people's faces without giving anything away, but most people can't lie worth a damn and they know it. You can easily fake emotion in a text because there's no worry about how you're acting or sounding.

In other news, people lie more when they know facial cues won't give them away.

Who cares if the sheep lie? They can deny the shepherd-lamb love all they want, but I've got pictures to PROVE that I farked 'em.

/ DNRTFA, just here to sadly admit to brag about sheep farking.

Everyone lies so much in every situation that calling someone a liar as if it's a revelation is hilarious.

Only liars think everyone is lying all the time.

kenryoku_one: Only liars think everyone is lying all the time.

That's not a lie, only incorrect.

Sure, I get that texting makes it easier to lie. But the report also states that video chat make it more difficult to lie than talking face to face. Sure, I can think of reasons that might be true: camera catches every detail, people feel they can disguise their emotions to another person but not to technology, maybe even that the video could be recorded. Maybe it was just a minimal statistical difference, but there might be a goldmine of human relationship information in figuring out why that happens.
