2) Given this, and given his lawyer(s)' legal obligation to provide the best possible defense, this is kind of the only ammunition they have. In this case, they have pillows. And the prosecution has tanks. Both literal and figurative tanks.

It's kind of slimy, since the repeal of DADT and the approaching repeal of DOMA, and the religious wing of both parties, especially the GOP will proceed to use this as a bludgeon against the left wing in general. I certainly don't look forward to that.
