You don't unilaterally disarm, and in the wake of Citizens United it will take a Constitutional Amendment to stop this madness.

Politico is truly an awful publication. They embody all that is wrong with the Beltway press.

I am imagining Gene Wilder saying "[unenthusiastically] Stop. Don't. Come back." to Mike TeeVee

I'm a peaceful man, a loving man, a caring man.

But if you don't buy me a TotalFark account, men who are not peaceful, loving, or caring may come and spill beer on your computer.

/I wouldn't support that.
\\I'm just sayin' is all.

I don't like free speech when it says mean things about how I believe that I should tell other people how to spend their money and to live their lives.

Teddy Roosevelt frowns on this pansy shiat.

It's funny to hear Newt or any of these other corporate drones who were originally in favor of the CU ruling complaining about negative attack ads.

This is what you wanted. Prohibiting corporations from buying elections is communism, remember?

I'm waiting for Colbert's ad promoting Perry as "The ONLY choice for White, Christian Americans."

Right wing farks take note. This is what CU bought you.

This is what you want, this is what you get.

It's happening at the congressional level, too, with super PAC Rethink PAC this autumn spending $156,000 on advertisements against Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), blasting him as a pawn of Wall Street and acting against the interest of working people

Congressmen and women should be very afraid, this one could be used against ANY incumbent.

When you can't say anything good about yourself, the obvious thing to do is to attack your opponent.

It'd be neato if politicians could run on their own POSITIVE merits instead of running on the "I'm not as bad as THIS guy" platform all the time.

But if they could do that, they would not be the worthless POS snake-oil salesmen we have come to love so much.

""I'm not allowed to communicate with the super PAC in any way, shape or form,"

Amazingly enough, Romney is telling the truth there. He mentioned later that he'd go to jail for doing so, which is the law.

Public funding.

It's the only way.

Difficulty: Funding should be no more than the cost of advertising and whatever fees are incurred from running for office.
For EVERYONE.

In an ad this week, a pro-Rick Santorum super PAC, Red, White & Blue Fund, "flashes images of Barack Obama, Gingrich, Romney, Rick Perry, Ron Paul and Michele Bachman before asking, "who's the true conservative you can really trust?""

HAHA..... Obama

Why is it wrong for "outsiders" to do this? Why should only "insiders" get to play in the major leagues?
