As a defense attorney, I had to defend at least one of these every year.

I got busted like that once in the City of Buffalo when I was in the second grade. I boosted a friend up so he could pull the fire alarm on a telephone pole. The cops tracked us right to the babysitter's house by following our footprints in the snow.

/To this day, I don't even remember there was snow on the ground.
//Damned kids.
///Got a good talking to by a couple of cops and fireman; they put the fear of gawd into us.

How could you, with a straight face, defend somebody you knew was guilty. I know it was your job and all, and am not asking in a 'how dare you' tone, but just wanted to know how you did it?

There's different footprints here, Lou. This guy's smaller than his buddy.

Oh, yah.

Nothing beats the dumbass from an episode of "COPS". He kicked in a door to steal a water heater and the cops follow the trail of leaking water and find him pushing it in a shopping cart.. Farking steam was still coming out of it when the cops caught up to him. Also in the cart were the wrenches and a hacksaw he used to disconnect the heater.

/"I found it"

Not sure if serious.

In case you are, you should read up on a few fairly documented cases in which, for instance, the defense attorney was drunk and slept through most of the trial. If the defense is not doing its job, why should the prosecutors?

I read that as "igneous robbers".

And my first thought was "yeah, I guess they *would* leave pretty obvious tracks in the snow."
