OK. That is the coolest thing I have seen in a long while. Totally made my year. Thanks, Subby.

Only the FSM could have guided that puck home.

The key part of the definition is highlighted for you. This doesn't break any laws of nature. The doctors used science and medicine to save this kid's life.
Secondly, the definition doesn't say that it's supernatural. It says that it's attributed to a supernatural cause.

I would have Tebowed afterwards.

Great shot! Congratulations on the early Christmas present, Brenda... I hope the tax bill isn't too much of a pinch but maybe you can get a plow mounted on it to make some extra cash.

Also, I didn't care for what the narrator had to say, but his accent was just intoxicating.

I'm sure the contest's insurance company will figure out some way to disqualify her. It's ok, though, because they will donate $500 to a charity of her choice.

The Habs need to sign this woman !

I would say the publicity this gets that Ford dealership would be worth their cost on the new truck, even if the contest wasn't insured.

Absolutely amazing - nice find, subby! I now have a huge smile on my face.

/hope she went out & bought a lottery ticket that day

Always has to be at least one of you guys, eh? If it was insured and the policy stated that she needed to be behind the far blue line then kudos goes to the dealership staff for making sure that they adhere to the policy requirements so that there is no issue. It sucked for the old guy in a previous video who scored from the far goal line that those holding the event couldn't be bothered to make sure that he was completely behind the line. That isn't on the insurance company though. Prize policies are pretty farking cut and dry. Our company sponsors a shiatload of hole-in-one policies every summer and the insurance has never failed to pay out when someone puts one in. The only requirement is it has to be over 125 yards. How farking difficult is that?

Awesome. I actually cheered out loud when the puck went in.

2011-12-21 10:58:58 AM
Does anyone else notice that the headline says she needs to make a hole-in-one hockey shot for a chance to win a truck and not just win a truck? That'd be one hardcore contest.

2011-12-21 11:08:59 AM
Do you suppose the remaining four contestants were allowed to take their shots?

2011-12-21 11:13:41 AM
wait, she made a 114' hole-in-one "for a chance to win a truck?" jesus, what did she have to do to win the actual truck?

That was awesome indeed! The nice thing about prize winnings in Canada is that there's no tax. So, unless there's a special case for tangible goods (as opposed to cash) where she might have to pay sales tax (13% in Ontario), she'll be getting a truck for no more than the increased insurance premiums.

/Accent? What are you talkin' aboot?

I saw something like this happen at a Hampton Roads Admirals game years ago - except the puck got stuck in the hole and the dealership said it didn't count. Fan outrage and bad publicity made them change their position and award the car a few days later. Companies actually have insurance policies in case fans win the prize in PR stunts like this.

College I go to does a similar contest from center ice and you can win a 46" TV. Maybe about 2 weekends ago, 2 out of 3 contestants won the TV, and I think they've given away 5 so far this season.

/was a 60" TV last year
//gave away 3 of those
///must be a little too easy

So she had to wear a helmet but the guy on crutches didn't?

2011-12-21 01:12:55 PM
That was cool. My favorite part is the guys in the background who were the other four contestants. To me the guy on the left has a WTF look on his face and body like he was just cheated out of "his" truck and still wants a shot (in his defense he does seem to come around), could just be me though. The others seem pretty cool about it and start clapping with the sticks on the ice for her.

maybe the toronto maple leafs should draft her in june

2011-12-21 03:30:10 PM
If I wanted a chance to win a truck, I could easily just fill out one of those address cards at a shopping mall and drop it into the box next to the truck on display.

This occurred in or near Massena New York from signs I saw on the boards and references to area code 315. The annoying announcer is fron somewhere in or near NYC, I'd bet. She'll be paying some taxes.....

Balls. You're right. I didn't even notice those clues, I just assumed the team we saw congratulating her was the home team: Akwesasne Warriors (^). As it turns out, they're the only Canadian team in the FHL (and apparently reigning league champions).

Even more special, she did it left handed. I can't even take a piss left handed.

Shenanigans in Norfolk with vehicle-winners? Impossible!:
