I'm impressed.

This is just one of the movies I want to see next year.

I will now go and mark the date on my calendar. That was just as good as I expected and I can't wait to see the movie. If I get the chance, I will get my cousins to read the book and drag them along to see it.

I can't wait. For the past few weeks, I've been making my first attempt at reading a novel in a foreign language- I chose The Hobbit, and it's been one of the most fun, challenging, and worthwile things I've ever done with my time. My goal will be to slog through it once while taking lots of notes, and then to read it a second time start to finish without a dictionary, using only my notes, before the film comes out.

God dammit. I loved Alien, Aliens and even really liked Alien3. You can keep the trash they did after that (Ressurection, AvP, etc). I really never wanted to know the origin of the aliens. It kept the mystery and curiosity for me. Will this ruin it? That's my fear.

Took me a good half-second of "wait, Aragorn isn't supposed to be in this movie..." confusion to figure out what was going on. I do hope that there is a good amount of singing in this movie, that was rather lovely.

I guess I really don't have much reason to biatch, because I don't plan to see them. The other ones bored me. Fantasy stuff just really isn't my thing. I'd rather the books not be farked with though.

I wouldn't worry. It's not really a prequel. Everyone has been very hush-hush about it, but its evidently only tangentially related to Alien. It's more of a 'set in the same world' type thing.
