Here's another bad prediction:

From the headline, "preacher claims the world will end, and ..." gets it wrong and does it again and again.

Haha, oh that Edison. Ever the joker.

I predict most people will view the article and comment based on the content of the article rather than react to the headline.

I have nothing to say on the article.

Just wanted to plus ten the subby.

We've been transmuting elements into gold and various other forms in nuclear reactors and particle accelerators for years. The only thing Edison got wrong is the costliness of such nuclear transmutation.

2011-12-20 05:12:26 PM
At the risk of defending Karl Rove, he didn't exactly say that Palin running for president was his all out, 5 star, super-guarantee, lock of the year. He hedged that pretty well.

It would be a master-stroke if successful: Avoid all the debates that will embarrass you to pieces, enter late enough to build a groundswell (possible with all the lame attempts at candidates the GOPers have put out this year) but without enough time for the backlash, until after winning the first few rounds of votes, by which time your victories mark you as a contender...

I will laugh my ass off if she gets the nomination, though. Republicans are such a caricature right now that it might happen.

deadsanta: We've been transmuting elements into gold and various other forms in nuclear reactors and particle accelerators for years. The only thing Edison got wrong is the costliness of such nuclear transmutation.

To be fair, that's a little bit more than a minor detail.

Well, we already have a solid-gold Rolls Royce, so maybe Edison was just off by a few years.

shiat I've been doing that in Skyrim for the past 2 weeks, no reactions or accelerations necessary.

What do you mean "starting to"?

Conde Naste calls Libya a tourist hot spot

Someday soon, Libya is going to be a very interesting tourist destination. They enjoy a beautiful Mediterranean climate, some of the best-preserved Greek and Roman ruins on earth, some decent infrastructure in the cities, fresh & tasty food and cheap accommodation.

I'll vote for Palin just for the fark of it

Don't forget the one where Obama says he'll focus on jobs like a laser.

Does that mean he's going to ruin another industry? Focus, laser, doesn't
mean he's going to create jobs. Could mean he's going to eliminate more
jobs.

Where is my jetpack. where is my cleaning robot. where is my self cleaning suit. where is my self driving car. where is my replicator. where is my teleporter. where is my private plane. where is my orbital holiday. where is my hypersonic travel. where is my meal in a pill. where is my indestructable CD. where is my immortality.

I got stiffed. Even if these things exist where is MINE?

While I'm not quite an expert, with the Iowa Caucuses being about two weeks away, I'm guessing that we're already past the deadline to register as a candidate in at least one or two states. The only way to win would be to somehow get enough delegates without those two states at all.

2011-12-21 12:15:19 PM
I'm just waiting for the replicator myself. Guess I'll settle for 3-D printing right now.
