Yeah, it's also not terribly relevant considering Kerry didn't become president and neither will Newt. Amazingly, it is possible to dismiss both.

Gingrich is qualified to be president. He's over the age of 35, he's a natural born citizen and has been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years. That is the only qualifications that matter.

Now, whether that's a good idea or not is a completely separate debate. (My view is that it's a bad idea.)

Put it this way, a guy with a 62 IQ and cannot feed or defecate without help is qualified to be on the Supreme Court because the Supreme Court does have any qualifications, per se, on the background of a Supreme Court Justice. However, having gibbering imbeciles who wet their diapers every five minutes as Supreme Court Justices is a very bad idea.
