Nah. I heard him too.

Pochas: Sarah Palin's Conscience: Dalek Caan's doomed mistress: ArcadianRefugee: Muffled, sure. Critical? Meh. Just have him do his lines again and dub it back in, no?

And get Kevin Conroy to come in and dub Christian Bale while they're at it too, please. I cannot stand Christian Bale's Batman voice.

/Bane was a little muffled, but a dub over really would solve that pretty easily

Lord, I thought that I was the only one.

I find it completely ridiculous. There's no reason to sound that way.

He has to disguise his voice so people don't figure out that he's Bruce Wayne. Also it is more intimidating than talking like Adam West or Michael Keaton.

If someone picked me up off my feet, threw me against a wall, gave me an intense gonna kick your ass look like Batman's I'd be scared...until he opened his mouth and garbled like Bale. Then I'd laugh. I wouldn't be able not to. So intimidating? Meh. Hilarious...yes.

Probably what Warner's wants, and really not a good idea; you can get away with looping dialog in very small amounts or if a character's back is turned, but looping an entire performance is going to be obvious -like watching a spaghetti western.

You're aware his mount is covered for the entire movie, right?

doubled99: I heard him fine as well. Heard of Bane before but didn't know about the "constantly inhaled drug" thing.
Farking stupid. Why doesn't everyone use it? Why not take his mask off and kick him in the nuts? Where does he get refills?

He's kind of an anti-Batman. He's as smart as Batman, but without the moral scruples. Getting close enough to take his mask off would be like getting close enough to try and take Batman's mask off... not a very wise idea.

Bane grew up in a prison (long story short, his dad was supposed to go to prison for something and fled, so they imprisoned his young child in his place - must be a great vacation destination), where he learned to be ruthless and how to kill a man at a young age. He was smart, so he educated himself as much as he could, then eventually was forced to participate in a medical experiment with a new drug.

The drug is called Venom and it's experimental. The drug killed all the previous test subjects (a good reason why there aren't a bunch of people running around on it). The user is granted a big boost in strength, sort of a quasi super soldier serum, but it is addictive. When the drug is withdrawn the positive effects go away as well, and sometimes the user even becomes weaker than before they started taking it.

In the comics, Bane is the only character to have actually handed Batman a legitimate, full-on defeat. He out thought him, then out fought him and broke Batman's back, leaving him to die. That's why Schumacher turning Bane into a growling, retarded, lackey of other villains was such a tragedy.

The Joker is a fearsome foe because he challenges Batman's ideology, forcing him into difficult moral quandries for fun. Bane, on the other hand, is a fearsome foe because he challenges Batman's ability. Bane is both Batman's physical AND intellectual equal.

Yes to the all of the above. Although I still can't figure out why the Manson family wrote her name all over the walls after murdering Chester Tate.

Batman
Alfred
Falcone
Ra's al Ghul
The Scarecrow
Bane

Sarah Palin's Conscience: PizzaJedi81: Doubleodoug: "See, for those who didn't spend their youth indoors, Bane is a bad guy who..."

I think the author may be confused.

Seriously...I read all of my comics up in a tree.

I think he was pointing out that Bane isn't a "bad guy."

Bane IS a bad guy.

He only helps Batman in one story arc.

In another, he breaks his freakin back, essentially permanently taking Batman out of commission and forcing him to be replaced by a jerk.

Bane is a dick, and definitely a villain.

Funny thing about that movie: Brad Pitt was making up random gibberish for a lot of the scenes. If you have captions on they actually give up at some points and just throw up a "??????????" The DVD has a setting for "Pikey Subtitles" and they give up a lot.

Inaudible dialogue coupled with overly loud sound effects and music is my biggest pet peeve about modern movies. Since around the mid-90s (it seems) they've pumped up the background sound so much it overrides dialogue. I hate it when I have to turn up a movie to understand conversation and then find myself scrambling for the remote as soon as something blows up or a song starts.

if you havent seen 'Bronson', i recommend giving it a shot. Tom Hardy plays the most well-known prisoner in England who later decides he wants to be known as Charles Bronson. Since most of the movie is him in prison, it's not a bad glimpse at what Bane in prison might look like. The movie has a strange 'A Clockwork Orange' feel to it too.

Hey, your little seen arthouse flick about the troubles of a divorce, bisexual prostitue and her nymphomaniac mother, drug adled father finding the long lost son she gave up for adoption, who lost a foot in a tragic boating accident, all while finding love with a widowed zookeeper with a bacon grease fetish comes out the same week, so maybe you go enjoy that while we enjoy our movie.

Yeah, but it's really noticeable with the kid.
Also, you should've left Alfred of the list, he's supposed to be British after all, and the actors that played Ra's al Ghul and the Scarecrow are Irish (I think both from the Republic, not NI, not entirely sure, should probably look up wikipedia)

You nerds need to be happy with what you get just once in your miserable comic book guy worst. Life. Ever. Not everything is a competition to show how much more sophisticated and intelligent you are but being 'above' the things other people like.

They made a bloody movie about a guy who dresses up as a bat and beats the crap out of equally unlikely characters and yet some people like to point out that the characters aren't well developed? If they were well developed they wouldn't be dressing up in costumes and fighting in the first place because NOBODY DOES THAT.

Christ just take it and buy tickets before they make a Hangover part 3!

This. It's quite annoying. I have a decent home theater (not great but not bad) and I live in an apartment. If I want to watch a movie I had damn well better start it before 9:00 PM otherwise I'm going to feel like a douche before the end or be using my remote the whole time to alter the volume.
