I love that this guy has spent decades talking about the fall of SMU and continues to deny any involvement in the situation.....but his ass is tied to Sherwood Blount moreso than anyone else from the University.

Has he ever not come off as a smarmy douchebag at any point in his life? Even in the Pony Excess thing, as a high school senior, he seemed like a smarmy douche.

You know, his resume reads exactly like someone not only fit but overqualified for today's congress. He's a liar, a sociopath, he has too much concern for things that aren't his business, and he is completely unaware of his own fail. Corrupt, or willing to be corrupt, and definitely willing to lie. Oh, and charismatic and a background in working the camera on TV.

Senator!

I hope he gets the nomination. It would be amusing to see the reaction of reliable Republican voters who also happen to be Texas Tech fans.

He'll never make it to the general election. That closet is full, and not just because Adam James is locked in it. #RIP5DH

Seriously. He's exactly dumb enough to be elected by Texans in a landslide.

Senator? Funny, I'd have pegged him more as a governor due to his experience with death penalties.

2011-12-20 11:53:25 AM
ESPN was quick to cut him loose. Sounds like they were just looking for an excuse.

Craigers shouldn't count on too many votes in west Texas after driving the TTU football program into the ground.

Can someone give me some more details about why there are questions that Craig James killed 5 hookers while at SMU?

bulldg4life: Has he ever not come off as a smarmy douchebag at any point in his life?

Damn, why can't I think of that "reality" show which was on Spike around 2003 or so? The one with the guy named Matt, a good but maybe slightly odd fellow, who thought it was real while everybody else was an actor and everything was done solely to get reactions out of him. Oh yeah, The Joe Schmoe Show, that was it. Anyways, each time I see the word "smarmy" I think of the awesome "host" for that show because he intentionally played a smarmy host.

Anyways...

I figured people were blaming Craig James and giving ESPN broadsides just because they were ESPN but wow, once I actually looked into it after the smoke had cleared James really is a complete douchebag and ESPN should be embarrassed over the way they conducted themselves.

That and the whole Bruce Feldman thing that even their damn ombudsman bent over backwards to bullshiat people has left me pretty damn disgusted with ESPN. They're going to take receive shots from people just because they are who they are and some people are stupid, I get that so no problem there, but they lost a lot of credibility with most people who I would consider "reasonable."

Craig James on ESPN. What are people who make me change the channel.
Senator Craig James. What are words that make me say sheeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiittttttttttt.

Well it's not like anyone there is smarter than him.

I dont think I've ever seen D_I_A quite this ... demonstrative.

Welp, you all do your part and stomp this piece of lying crap back to where he came from, meanwhile the Coug half of the state of Washington thanks you all for sending them your coach. He'll liven up the Apple Cup, that much is certain.

ESPN has gone from reporting/broadcasting sports (and other competitive events) to influencing the sports world. It was very obvious during the TTU fiasco. Sadly, that wasn't the first time. And sadly, it won't be the last. The way they flex their muscle is pathetic.

I remember this guy on the 30 for 30. He seemed legitimately proud that he got away with everything there. Then the whole smear job on Texas Tech? So he's a morally bankrupt, corrupt, sociopath. Of course this guy wants to go to Washington. Hell, he even looks like a politician

I am torn, i am very happy to have him off ESPN and announcing games; however, he could help destroy America/world as a senator. Decisions decisions I have to balance my enjoyment watching college football with my concern for the planet.

Texas Tech? Try the entire alumni/fans of schools in Texas not named SMU.

If you recall, the former Gov. (and acting SMU President at that time) was deathly afraid of that whole scandal coming out and ruining his chances to become Governor.

Maybe Craig didn't think his cunning plan through. :D

2011-12-20 01:05:01 PM
Craig James also used the same PR group to smear Mike Leach that also smeared John Kerry over the Swift Boat Veterans thing.

I like Sark, I think he is a great coach. I think recruiting for both schools will not be a problem since Leach and Sark both seem to like different types of players.

GAT_00: Makes me wonder if maybe James might not be that bad.

Living in a corrupt small town in Florida has given me a very clear picture of why people like James should be kept out of the political process. Our small town is a good old boy system. They control the local newspaper and the courts and divvy up the government contracts and highly paid positions among themselves, regardless of merit or integrity. They have substantially lowered our local quality of life. It has become very easy to spot them, too. They almost always fill positions with the barest of minimum requirements, and are backed by other local good old boys.

To me this is so obvious. The guy doesn't want to start in politics at the state level, or even as a congressman, to learn how the entire political process works. No, he wants to start right in as United States Senator. Some good old boys at the national level have noticed his part in the Texas Tech saga and his talent for underhanded backstabbing, and his ability to walk away from it without any repercussions. For the plutocrats who run America, James is a talent of the highest level.
For the citizens of the USA, an arrogant two faced jackass like James is trouble with a capital T.

varmitydog: To me this is so obvious.

I'm not actually serious. I'm just highly leery of being on the same side as DIA on anything, given that he's wrong on almost everything.

yeah, they are awesome. This guy is going to make things fun over in Pullman. All I care about it the 2 Washington schools running the pac 12. I want to see us both compete with U$C and Oregon.

The pac 12 upgraded in a major way in coaches this year. The TV deal gives WSU money to compete. I do not see us winning Rose Bowls every year, but I do not see us as the doormat any longer!

Washington St: Mike Leach
Arizona: Rich Rodriguez

Arizona St.: Some douchenozzle who managed to go an incredible 6-6 in the mighty Big East before leaving under shady circumstances and didn't even tell his players he was leaving.

*facepalm*
