I mean, I think that's dumb. I think people should be fired. But I don't think it should be a crime if it's legal otherwise.

The teachers are viewed as being in a position of power, thus it might be argued that students would feel pressure to follow any instructions given to them. Abuse of power would be most likely (or abuse of trust).

I am just trying to figure out how such a law would be worded so as not to criminalize all sexual conduct between a superior and a subordinate. Maybe if it is tied to the licensing of the teachers, but otherwise I am just trying to suss out the mechanics of such a criminal statute.

And I concede, there are some pretty unattractive broads in that slideshow. But that's not what I was getting at. If a teen guy is having sex, willingly, with someone he wants... it's hard for me to feel like he's being victimized.
