She is the latest in technology
Almost mythology
But she has a heart of stone
She has an I.Q. of one thousand one
She has a jumpsuit on
She's also a telephone.

The Japanese (of course) ventured into this idea with their 2001 manga/anime 'Chobits.' (new window) Netflix has it on streaming. It's a bit 'fanservice' heavy, but not half-bad.

My wife was fine with the idea of me having a sex robot, until she found out the one I ordered looked just like her sister.

Far too many single women love their dildo more than they love men. That's why they're still single. So yes, loving a robot i.e. dildo can lead to divorce and forever alone

What is it with women? Of course we want to fark their sisters! It's like getting a two-fer. She sorta looks like her anyway and that hug you got last time you saw her gave you a chubby and you used it is boner fuel for the next romp with the missus. I don't see the problem with a robotic sister either.

Ordinary human dating. It's enjoyable and it serves an important purpose. But when a human dates an artificial mate, there is no purpose. Only enjoyment. And that leads to ... tragedy.

2011-12-20 12:46:31 PM
With the possibility of a software glitch on the sexbot causing it to go from "love you long time" mode to "cut your dick off in the middle of a BJ" mode, I'll stick to either the real thing, my hand, or a Fleshlight.

It's only sexy if you have a bizarre "creepiness fetish" (new window). She seems to be voiced by the Xtranormal text-to-speech engine. Like a sultry Stephen Hawkings.

I read Love and Sex with Robots a while ago. David Levy cannot wait to have his own sexbot - he's sure that its internet connectivity will allow it to learn all kinds of cool tricks.

And of course it could never be hacked...

OK. That was just too stupid to read. I'm trying to imagine the loser who'd shell out $7K for a freaking sex toy. Basement dwelling sons of the 1%? Nah. Dad would just by him a hooker for an out call.

2011-12-20 01:04:18 PM
I had no idea that a sex robot had finally been commercialised. I'll admit that I'd be curious about a sex robot but, not with something like this 'roxxy' one. They'll have to get a lot better before I start considering one cause that one still just looks creepy. I'll stick to real women for now.

But yeah, I definitely think that in the future robots will easily lead to divorce. Even more easily than that hot girl that always flirts with you at the local bar when you aren't there with your wife. The robot doesn't play with your heart, it doesn't say no, it's always eager to please and it doesn't get 'emotional'. The only thing the robot can't do is be human. But if they get to the point where they look 95% life-like or better I think we'll see a real issue in human relationships being destroyed by a robot.

All I know is that I'd pick a life-like yet soulless robot over a good few of my exes. Well, I think some of them were soulless too.
