FTA: As the skit continued, Sudeikis told the team he prays to their marvelous kicker, Matt Prater. Prater, played by Adam Sandberg, said, "I didn't know that."

Er, I think you mean "Andy Samberg". but..hey...all those Jew names sound alike, right?

So either SNL is endorsing Mitt Romney, not likely... or that was an ironically amusing throw away line at the end, much more likely.

What might have been lost on viewers was a not-so subtle endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney when Jesus Christ - played by Jason Sudeikis - said at the skit's close, "Mormonism - all true, every single word"

Ho...ly...sheeeeeit.

Is this guy fkn serious?

IT'S A GODDAM JOKE NOT A POLITICAL ENDORSEMENT YOU FKN RETARD

You can't mad when people with no sense of humor don't get a joke, it's not fair to them.

i'm more disturbed by SNLs decision to endorse field goal kickers as important contributors to the game of football.

I too wonder why SNL won't write skits that conservative bloggers want them to write.

mitchcumstein1: You can't mad when people with no sense of humor don't get a joke, it's not fair to them.

Agreed. But there's a difference between not getting a joke and interpreting it as a "not-so subtle endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney." I mean, that's beyond no humor - that's active tunnel-vision and single-minded paranoia.

2011-12-19 10:49:34 AM
Of course SNL would want a Mormon president. The jokes would write themselves.

i don't mind jokes writing themselves as long as every single sketch still features a recurring kristin wiig character.

Of course. Piles and piles of stupidity and ignorance are standard ingredients to News Busters "articles." Especially with the knuckle-dragging troglodyte who posted this particular steaming stack of feces.

Obama, a center-right leaning politician is somehow considered a dangerous liberal by America's right wing.

Makes me wonder what kind of derp they'd spew if we had a real honest to god progressive in the White House.

Again, they are the real enemy here, not ZOMG OBAMA SIGNED THE NDAA!!

So when Abraham Lincoln showed up to call Tom Hanks a "pussy" (I wish I could find that episode. It was during his monologue), it means that the Confederacy really should have won the war?

It was kind of cute. If they had cut the cheap shots, it would have been funnier, and not so mean spirited, but, hey, it is SNL.

Now I'd like to see the gutless, cowardly, chicken shiate writers and actors on the show take an equally "funny" comedy shot at, say, Islam. Why, the same guy could play Mohammy, and they could have him in the parking lot tailgate party eating bar-B-Q pork sliders, polish sausages, ham, etc, and maybe chasing cheer leaders around with stones.

Then Mohammy could get some little kid to take a football "bomb" over to Tebow for an autograph! It would be so funny, right?

Why not find out how many liberals have the "stones" and the sense of humor to put that on the air. I'm betting NONE!!!

No problem razzing Christians in general and Tebow in particular. The only bombs he throws are into the end zone in the fourth quarter.

It must be terrible to see enemies and threats literally everywhere, and in everything. What a frightening, horrifying world some people must live in.

Also, that guy is as unhinged as someone holding up a "BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM" sign if he thinks that sketch and what he suggested are even in the same ballpark, in terms of insensitivity.

An equivalent sketch mocking Christianity would require an openly-gay Jesus throwing communion wafers onto the ground, and SNL would be ripped to shreds for it.

I can't say I want to see a bunch of spittle and religious intolerance toward Mormons in the Republican party, but it would be kinda entertaining.

The reason it's fun to "poke fun" at Christians is that they started it. Make a list starting with old-time TV evangelists and work your way down to the holier-than-thou hooker-banging neighborhood preacher. It's all there. Sure, there are some good ones, but the proselytizing drowns them out.

And, yeah, it wouldn't hurt to give Mormons their satiric due, too. Aren't they the underfed dudes who walk through neighborhoods wearing white shirts and dark pants urging people to follow Their Way?

Yeah, as hilarious as those South Park episodes on Mormonism and Scientology were, there is no religious mythos that "makes more sense".

It's like: those people are so stupid! They believe aliens coming to the planet and creating a religion! We just believe angels did it...we are smarter. Both sides are bad so vote Battlestar Galactica

Yup.

Had one show up at my house during the aftermath of the big storm in the northeast this summer. Power out in the whole neighborhood.

They were nice enough, but yeah, I don't want your brochure. As Mitch Hedberg said, you're really just saying "Here, YOU throw this out." And I don't want to hear about Jesus, or the good news, or whatever the fark you believe. Please leave.

This just in: politicians give comedians a constant stream of easy new material to satirize, making comedians love them. Film at 11.
