As soon as all of his assets are signed over to his wife and/or moved offshore, the source will be identified.

I still don't get it. It was a perfectly acceptable trade. Better than what the Hornets got from the Clippers. Oh well. I don't really care.

Judging by the nature of the statement we can narrow down the field of suspects to everybody not named Dan Gilbert.

Well my anonymous sources told me the real reason Paul went to the Clippers is because Sterling, Gilbert and Stern went to Bangkok this summer and that Sterling has a photo of Stern getting railed by a ladyboy.

Butthurt Lakers fan here. I agree that the vetoed trade would have made NO and LA better. And according to the Rockets, getting Pau Gasol and possibly dumping some salary to make moves next year was part of their long-term plans. The trade also would have increased NO's salary while decreasing LA's. So if you're a small-market team that is also a part owner of the Hornets, you see:

1) A deal that benefits everyone except you, because your luxury tax disbursement would go down despite the luxury tax increasing under the new CBA.

2) One of the teams everyone loves to hate getting another superstar.

3) The possibility of Dwight Howard going to LA skyrocketing, creating a dynamic duo that would enable the Lakers to compete for championships after Kobe retires.

But Stern said, with a straight face, that he vetoed it for basketball reasons. Yee-up!

Apparently, Stern thinks that a young, cheap team and a high draft pick in 2012 is more appealing to potential NBA team owners than a winning team that puts butts in seats and corporate sponsors in your luxury boxes. Come see Eric Gordon and a player to be named later!

Dude, be careful! Someone might invoke Rule 34!

FTA

Calling NBA commissioner David Stern's assertion that the Rockets' vetoed trade for Pau Gasol was never considered a done deal "an outright lie," a person with direct knowledge of the process said Stern was informed throughout the negotiations and the day of the trade before he refused to let it go through.

Is that the same person who said that Sandusky was selling kids from his organization to pedophiles in the Penn State Booster associations?

As a Seattleite, all I'll say is

farkING DUH to the UHH.

Burn in hell, Stern.

Guarantee the source is an agent involved in the deal.

Stern is at war with the agents, whom he thinks have too much power. That gives him license -- in his mind -- to veto trades cooked up by agents and then, if need be, lie about it.

Are you trolling or just retarded?

Stern also said that KeyArena was one of the best places to see a basketball game and was a first-class place less than 10 years before he was calling it unfit for the NBA once his friend bought the team.

Stern also said that his referees would never undermine the integrity of the game.

Stern also said that he didn't have the authority to not suspend the Suns players for taking a few steps off the bench despite getting nowhere near the "altercation" in the playoffs a few years ago, then somehow DID have the authority to not suspend players on several other teams, like the Spurs and Celtics, for stepping on the court during "altercations" in playoff games.

The guy is a two-faced son of a b*tch and I hope his legacy gets turned to the sh*t it belongs being after the sh*t of the last year. F*ck Stern in the ass with a hunting knife.

Stern's legacy is already in the toilet to anybody who follows the NBA closely. They used to tolerate his crap because he helped the league grow to where it is today. Because of that, we ignored the "new official" game ball, the half dozen ill timed team moves, the fixed draft for the Cavs, the Lakers/Kings 2002 playoffs fix, or any other small insult that were meant to grow the league at the short term expense of the integrity of the game. Stern finally went to far. This last debacle was made only in the interest of the owners off of an already disastrous lock out where many people simply didn't care if the league came back at all this year.

Nobody is left to support Stern. While I know who the heads of various other leagues are, most casual fans don't. Stern is now known and not for good reasons. He will leave the NBA hated and it couldn't be more deserved.

Stern's brilliant leadership was all about #23, and we've been chasing the next MJ ever since.

/can't wait until Gary Bettman takes his David Stern wanna-be shiat back to the NBA
