Caine was a great choice for Alfred.

I just like how the teams had realistic colors. There was some other movie I remember seeing where it where one of the teams had this awful purple and green color scheme. The sum of all fears maybe?

Christ. The film industry just needs to give Christopher Nolan all their money. Freakin goosebumps.

Bane looks stupid and Hathaway is no Catwoman. It's become abundantly clear to anyone but the most BWAUM-headed Nolan-phile that this is going to be an absolute disaster, the likes of which will make Spiderman 3 look like Godfather 2. And killing off Wayne like Nolan's going to do isn't bold, it's predictable and lazy.

Besides Bane's awful voice this is going to be badass.

To play devil's advocate, I recall when Heath Ledger was revealed to be the actor who would play the Joker, there were tons of complaints that he would be just horrible at it.

I'm not holding my breath on this one, but then I was never a big fan of Bane.

Is this seriously what the story is supposed to be??? Or, is it going to be along the line of the comic where Bane just beats the hell out of him and breaks his back, laying him up for a while (not a real comic fan, but know there's an issue where this happened because I have the first edition 'Breaking of Batman' in hard plastic, I got it at an auction) but what mentality would there be behind killing off such a money-maker of a movie series - even the older "corny" batman movies were hits. (Watched the older ones, ENJOY the newer ones)

No one knows, that guy is just your standard internet loser who knows everything about a movie he's not seen, but read some rumors about online, so he wants to record his vocal disgust and hatred of everything about it so he can be cool when the movie actually does come out, so he can whine "I told you sooo, oooo! I am COOL!"

You know that guy. He's here a year before every big movie comes out to tell everyone why it sucks.

Substitute "Alfred" with "any role he has every played" and you'd be more accurate. And he's only getting better with age.

He wasn't horrible, in fact he was the second best Joker, ahead of Nicholson and the others. Fark geeks are right on who the best joker is/was.

So far my only beef with is movie is the whole "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The end of the saga".

If he's rising how is it the end? It seems deliberately obtuse.

At the end of the second movie, Batman was labeled a murderer and driven underground. Presumably, this movie would represent his redemption, or rise, perhaps.

I'm unfamiliar with the Batman graphic novels/comics, so could someone tell me why the villain has a goatse mask on?

I only get 32 seconds in, and it freezes.

Before anybody suggests, I run 60mbps, don't have any problems running 1080p YouTube and Vimeo videos (while one or two Netflix movies are playing in the house)

In the comics, Bane takes a what is basically a super steroid called Venom, which buffs him up to super human levels. The venom is sent into the back of his head through tubes. He wears a luchador mask because he is from a caribbean island. I'm not sure about the movie, though. My guess is he uses the mask to inhale venom.

Bruce croaks, but the Dark Knight rises again in the form of that guy from 3rd Rock From The Sun. The bit where they showed him right before flashing something about "The Dark Knight Legend" seems to hint at that.

Supposed to be released tomorrow online. I thought Fark would wait until the official one came out before they greenlit it. Oh well.

Saw this Friday and the 8 minute prologue. It's going to be hard to understand Bane (hoping Nolan puts some subtitles in or something) but this movie looks great. Nice wrap up to the whole thing.

/ still not sure about Catwoman though.

I don't consider it predictable and lazy, since most Hollywood studios would never allow it to happen for exactly the reason you point out - the series is a huge money maker. The mentality is to go into the story with a definitive beginning and end and not drag it out forever; complete the character arc. Plenty of other movie series and TV shows have turned to crap because they weren't willing to plan an end to the story, and so they keep having to jam in crappy filler. Sometimes that filler becomes the ending because it sucks so bad. Examples: Spiderman 3, seasons 2 and 3 of Lost (one they finally decided on 6 seasons total, it finally picked up the story again), just about any other movie series that ran past 4 movies.

Plus, Nolan, Bale and a bunch of others involved probably want to move on to new projects, and the series just wouldn't be the same with anyone else at the helm. I'd rather see it go out on a high note than continue on into mediocrity.

/Plus there aren't really any good villains left for Nolan to use since he said he' only use the more realistic villains and is also avoiding the campy ones, so Riddler, Penguin, Clayface, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze out. That pretty much leaves Zsasz and Hush, and neither of them are known much by people who aren't fans of the comics, even though they are major villains.

True, and he did defy all expectations. Also, people stopped saying that once they saw him in the trailer.

I still cannot stand Anne Hathaway and think she is incapable of doing anything but over-acting. She also has a really annoying voice.

That said, I'll still see the movie.

According to "Empire" magazine, it's something to control pain from an injury, but I am not sure that is 100% confirmed. The same article said it definitely was not gong to be venom or steroids. I don't know, thought. That doesn't make much sense to me.

Can I just say, the Nolan batman has a couple of faults for me:

1. his overly gruff voice sounds hilariously 'try-hard' to my ears
2. Batman's mask just looks... wrong - it makes Bats look like a fathead

Just had to get that off my chest.

MI4 is actually getting pretty good reviews (Rotten Tomatoes has it at 95% for the critics and 91% for the audience), so I have no problem seeing it as a popcorn flick and getting the Batman prologue as a bonus.

Bane's voice is terrifying. I missed part of what he said because the doofus recording this felt the need to talk over his one line of dialogue in the trailer, but it was still intimidating.

Glad to see Selina Kyle has some edge to her as well.

Empire Magazine already got the official scoop on this and the prologue confirms it: he inhales an anesthetic because of a prior injury. He'd essentially die without it.
