From the comment there, either way Obama is to blame. The 15 cent tax that never appeared has crushed the industry. Thanks, Obama!

Shouldn't this be a headline on December 26th?

Taxing the industry is what can cause the fir to fly and have them pining for better days.

Kinda weird that something could be selling well in one city and poorly in another, isn't it?

What's the point of getting a tree any later than about right now? You need some time to actually enjoy it.

We skipped on a tree this year because we won't be home on Christmas to enjoy it. Plus we are a bit tired of the ever spiraling costs of trees these day. Spent $90 on a 6 ft tree last year, it's pretty ridiculous.

I have never understood the appeal of having a tree in your house, to begin with.

Because of the tax, I knew it!

Things would be different if that had gone the other way.

I realize its anecdotal, but Home Depot, Lowe's and Wal-Mart all ran out of Christmas trees AND lights by the first week of December around here. That's never happened before. Either they ordered less or people bought more.

That's not an article, it's an ad for one Christmas tree vendor.

FTA: Joy's Christmas Trees says the price of a tree can range anywhere from $25 to $130 and they give military discounts.

Couldn't agree more. Wonder how much they paid for this "news piece"?
