The whole Marilyn Monroe angle was stupid, the photo shoot was faux-retro and pretentious, and not particularly good in the first place.

In the end, it was a blatantly transparent publicity stunt by both Playboy and Lohan. No point in paying for a subpar product you can get for free.

I'll just add that I found the pics online for free incidentally on another news filter site I frequent, and I still feel screwed because it put me out the opportunity cost of finding better softcore material, or god forbid actual porn.

I don't think this shoot failed solely because Lindsey is not as attractive as she used to be. These sorts of spreads can be broken down into two categories: the goods and how they are displayed. This particular shoot had bigger problems with column b than a IMO. That's not to say that A is all bad, by no means do I mean that. Let's just say that a) isn't doing anyone favors and b) is particularly important.

If this had been blocked and shot differently I'll bet they could have made a super hot set that would even give chicks boners. In a similar way, this set would have been Ok (not wonderful though) with the world's hottest chick. It just wasn't well planned and thought out.

The shots were all bad. The scene/plan/shoot was ill-conceived. It's like, it doesn't matter how many people show up, and how nice my (and everybody else's) bikes are, and how great the trophies are for a bike race if the course sucks. Everything else even done to the pinnacle of awesome can't redeem the crit is the course blows. If they had done a, iono, surfing theme, or a beach theme, or something girl-next-doorsy and made her look healthy and beautiful it would have also had the effect up jacking-up the sexiness, hotness and value of the shoot.
The real question is if the shoot's theme, costumes etc were Hef's or Lohan's ideas.

It's an investment. I give her a couple of more years, at most.

I do have to say, though, that I am impressed with Playboy's ability to shut down any and all sites with the pics posted. I've tried to see them, out of morbid curiosity to see how badly they photoshopped her (guys, freckles are the point, and the only thing that made Lohan different). But each and every site that the Google gods bestow upon my browser claims to have been contacted by lawyers and had to take it down.

I have seen countless numbers of celebs try to shut down leaked nudes off their cellphones, and of course fail. Countless companies try to shut down leaked documents or incriminating pics, and of course fail. The internet always found a way. And I'm sure eventually, it will here too. But for now, they be essentially shut down the geek network of free information.

But then, maybe its that the pics aren't good enough for them to care that much about the fight. I guess I'll see for myself some day.

They got the shoot all wrong. They didn't capture her character. She isn't glamorous. The woman in the photos was completely unrecognizable as Lohan. This could have been hot, but they screwed it up. It should have been taken with low lighting in a seedy motel room, with cigarettes on the carpet and a tipped over wine glass. Think the video for Fiona Apple's Criminal.
