Goddam global freezing.

2011-12-17 03:12:16 PM
Shave the whales.

2011-12-17 03:15:56 PM
Back when it was Soviet Russia, the whales would save you.

2011-12-17 03:16:16 PM
I thought the north pole would be ice free now?

This is great. Now maybe he'll stop following me so closely that he can read my other bumper sticker which says 'If you can read this bumper sticker you're following me too closely when you should be out saving the whales'.

And they're sugar free, so the whales won't have to worry about the tooth decay caused by sweets.

FTFA: the worst scenario is that even this oasis either freezes over or becomes a magnet for polar bears, which have been known to take advantage of such circumstances to engage in a kind of feeding frenzy, reaching in and hauling trapped belugas on to the ice.

It's nice that some enjoy playing God, deciding who shall live. It's like an In/Out Hollywood list, I guess; polar bears are soooo 2009.

How is an icebreaker supposed to free Tibet? They're landlocked, stupids!

2011-12-17 03:23:01 PM
Not shown: Japanese trawlers tailgating the icebreaker.

2011-12-17 03:23:50 PM
I think they're over doing it a bit, as their aircraft has helped enough whales so that a man could walk from Greenland to Iceland to Scotland without getting his feet wet...

The poor whales, quick we must melt the ice so that no more whales can be caught and killed!

Thank you for that. FTFA it says that by helping the whales, polar bears will go without the food and so will local human tribes.

If the icebreaker frees the whales, and also drops a ton of meat for the humans and bears then maybe its even (but whar does meat come from? whar?)

Imagine if you were stuck out in the ocean and some whales come and pull to you shore, saving your ass... while only eating a few of you. That's pretty much what they do to the whales.

So we sacrifice the polar bears to save the whales?
farking food chain, how does it work?

My bumper sticker still says:

So, fark off, you tree hugging whale humpers.

2011-12-17 03:33:44 PM
But what about the polar bears?

2011-12-17 03:34:36 PM
I bet a nuclear warhead could break up that ice sooner, opening a path to the sea. DO EEEEEET!!!!

Save the charismatic mega-fauna!

/no one cares about the small ugly species.
//though with polar bears losing out its a toss-up.

My bumper says "stop global warming" so I'm getting a real kick outta these replies.

So we can eat them all now or we can eat a few, free the rest and eat next year too?

/choices, hmm

This is pretty much what I was thinking. Sure, save the beluga whale which gets trapped in ice every winter season, as was and still is the natural cycle of things. But how do we save the polar bears who rely heavily on a diet of small animals, fish, and whale flesh?

Hell, it's only a couple of hundred this time, anyways.

Yeah, I'd rather the bears get to eat. Belugas are awesome and all, but they're only NT, and Polar Bears are VU. Also because the fact that they HUNT AND EAT WHALES just adds to the awesomeness of polar bears.

2011-12-17 04:52:01 PM
I thought we were worried about the polar bears because they might be getting offed because of global warming. Now we are taking away their food supply?

2011-12-17 05:02:13 PM
"The whales have little food, and the ice flow is increasing ... They are at risk of rapid exhaustion and, ultimately, death by starvation or suffocation."

Sounds like we need to burn more diesel hauling oil from Canada instead of putting in that pipeline.
