The scream I would have let out would have been used in horror movies for years to come.

I'd stare mutely into space for about 3 minutes, then throw up.

"Yuri, let's stop in the next town. I need to buy underwear."

"Yeah, me too."

"Can I open my eyes now?"

Hey, it was in Russia. They were probably all shiatfaced.

I'd scream like a school girl as I already do when the light goes from green to yellow, so why change?

How about throw it in reverse and get back behind that box truck

Why the hell were they filming that?

2011-12-17 11:31:03 AM
why are 97% of all the crash videos in russia?

2011-12-17 11:32:23 AM
Because these guys know how to drive on snow and ice. Which means they knew that trying to throw it into reverse and get the car moving quickly enough to get behind that box truck would be worse than just sitting there.

What's Russian for 'I just shat myself.'?

There's a high rate of con artists trying to pull insurance scams in Russia. They'll either jump on your car and claim that you hit them, or they cut in front you and suddenly slam on their brakes. A lot of drivers are using dashcams in order to cover their assets.

Bagelox-99: I'd stare mutely into space for about 3 minutes, then throw up.

Would have taken me close to 3 minutes to come back down to Earth after the shiat exploding from my rear shot me through the roof of the car faster than any ejector seat James Bond could dream of.... but, I'm sure I'd prolly throw up on the way back down and spend the last minute of my life looking over and thinking, "Hey, I don't remember eating that.."

I have a dash cam for my car. Spent $200 dollars on it. Starts recording when I turn my car on, overwrites older files first and saves about a weeks worth of average driving at a time. If I get in a wreck or accident I can save the file and use it for proof that I did no wrong doing.

I bought it after an accident I had last year were the woman changed her story after realizing she was gonna be the one in the wrong. Luckily the cops and insurance companies were able to figure out what really happened, but if it ever happens to me again there will be no discussion about the outcome.

Gotta hand it to the driver of the oncoming truck. He got out of shape in rough conditions and drove it out of trouble. Those tires were not locked up.

Oh my, I just had a flashback to those Driver's Ed movies that we had to watch. They all had such colorful titles: Red Asphalt, Dying to Drive, Wheels of Tragedy... Every scene was a smashed-up car with some goober and his girlfriend halfway through a windshield or impaled on a steering column or something absurdly gory like that, with a "State Trooper" reciting some stilted voice-over about not being a moron behind the wheel because look what happened to young Walter and Patricia!!!. I wonder if the 16-year-olds of today get to "enjoy" those.

Oh I must have missed the part where he skidded 500ft on all that ice and rear ended the box truck because he had no control. Oh, wait, he stopped without skidding

I had the idea for something like those dash cams but more extensive like a planes black box, and the cameras would be viewing ask four sides of your vehicle and also watching you and keeping a log of speed, brake, signals, etc bring used. Of courser you don't need ask that but the more info you have for your insurance the better.

/had a lady speed thru a red light at me, and since I was making a left hand turn on a red light it was half my fault. She only nicked my bumper but 360' d her truck swerving to avoid me. Even with multiple witnesses saying she ran a red light and changed lanes at the intersection to run it, I was still held half at fault.
BS

That's my point. The guys in the car knew what they were doing. Which is why they didn't try to throw it in reverse to get away.

You can bypass the middleman (at least that one) and order that stuff straight from China. I've ordered stuff from these guys (new window) and always got pretty much what I was expecting. Which isn't saying much but hey it's cheap.

I wired it into my stereo power system so it turns on when I turn the car on, other wise you can just plug it into a cig lighter.

Sorry nope. I actually picked up "gotch" at summer camp in central Ontario about a thousand years ago. Also only ever lived in or near, wait for it... Toronto

I'd be in wonder at a cop being around when it's someone else who's driving like an idiot.
