Having just finished reading my Calvin & Hobbes books, I'm getting a kick out of this!

My favorite is the "Forced perspective is a lost art one," which I can't seem to find right now.

I would totally buy those if they made figurines or snow globes out of them

NuttierThanEver: I would totally buy those if they made figurines or snow globes out of them

Good luck getting Bill Watterson to sign off on that.

Only comic strip I've read that could bring tears of laughter on one page and tears of sadness on the next.

And you can see ALL of Bill's "Snow Goon" comics right here:

This is why every person that has a sticker of Calvin peeing on something on the back of their car needs to be beat senseless, repeatedly.

I wish I could say that C&H would go down in history as one of the best comics ever and all that, but frankly I don't think that many people today remember them. They will always be remembered in certain circles, especially more nerd-oriented circles, but sadly, a lot of people I know and work with have no idea of what C&H is.

Newspapers that keep downsizing the comics section to keep costs down have no idea that they are sacrificing what is possibly the one thing they can sell their newspaper with, the one thing that has kept the newspaper culturally relevant in the last couple of decades. Can you remember more than a few specific articles from the late 80's or early 90's that you read in a newspaper? Remember the scores from football games? Remember the weather reports? Remember the editorials or any of the personals or classified ads?

No?

I bet you can remember a lot of the Far Side, C&H and Peanuts comic strips, tho.

Yep. And when C&H ended, I stopped buying newspapers.

I know ending it on a high note was the right thing to do, but it still broke my heart.

It's missing the anatomically correct snowman.
