It's a perfect microcosm of today's armed forces...it's really quite beautiful, if you think of it.

Well, the hole that's most northwest looks like a dogleg right par 5. And anybody who's prone to a wicked hook or slice from time to time is going to find themselves in a shiatload of sand.

If I had to pick an entity to bear the cost of early adoption, I'd go with the military, too.

I think that's actually a straight par 3 and straight part 4...can't easily tell with the resolution, though I'm judging my guess on those teeny-tiny little sand traps there at what looks like the dog leg. Now, the one to the easternmost looks like it might be a par 5 with a right dog leg, but on merit of the length and narrowness of the fairway considering it only has the sand trap next to the green for hazards.

It's the government's job to internalize externalities, you cretinous farking conservatives. I get so tired of hearing Republicans bleat about the "free market" without having a high school level understanding of Economics.

I doubt this is going to have much of an impact on the $2.5 billion per day the US spends on its military.

The contract is split between two firms. That's interesting but still doesn't say if it was competitively bid or not.
