Because, 50 years ago, it would've read, "It started as a disturbance outside of...." (fill in the blank locally-owned establishment filled with items produced in this country).

All you need to make the meth now is an empty 2L soda bottle, a few lithium batteries, ammonia cleaner, charcoal starter liquid and some pseudoephedrine (cold medicine). All of these can be found cheap at Wal Mart. The problem is that the people making their "jiffy" meth are not exactly trained chemists and often the reaction (a capped soda bottle = closed vessel) explodes. The guy needs some help.
