No it doesn't. The Tea Party was a means to rile up dormant extreme right wing of the Republican Party, and use their anger as a means to get them to do the ground work needed to win the 2010 elections. The problem is that they took over many of the local county and state GOP organizations and have forced moderate republicans out of party because all they see is the candidates gear toward the crazy. They don't need Sarah Palin because they already have four of the remaining presidential candidates, and the entire party has picked up their platform.

I really did not need the image created by using "Sarah Palin" and "flounder" in the same sentence.

And with the Tea Party the Republican Party is floundering.

Wow, it's been a while since I even thought about the Tea Party.
Thanks subby for ruining Christmas for me

They got enough useful idiots elected to flip the House. Problem is, those idiots are turning out to be far less useful than Freedom Works' resources are worth.

They did what they were supposed to do and now have been discarded. They were toilet paper.

The few Tea Partiers that were actually there for moderately intelligent reasons have joined Occupy.

Oh, and Sarah Palin isn't gonna let you get all up in her tard tunnel, so you don't have to white knight so hard.

You ever see a food-line of ants traveling back and forth from the nest to the food source, then wipe your finger across the invisible chemical trail, and watch them become disoriented and confused when they hit that part? It's like that.

Yeah, she seems credible. This is definitely the kind of intelligent, rational person you want at the head of your organization. Her insight is keen.

You know, they say that people of lesser intelligence have trouble assessing the intelligence of others.

According to the Dunning-Kruger Effect, they have trouble assessing intelligence in themselves.

Agneska: Oh, a Sarah Palin thread should help minimize the butthurt over the fact that Obama is about to cave to the GOP on Keystone. Heheh.

The Keystone offer is at least better than the Republicans' previous offer, which was to fund a job-creation measure by cutting jobs. That's as blatantly partisan as you could get.

With respect to Keystone, the biggest beef that people have about it is what happens if there's a spill. I think even Republicans would agree that having tons of oil spilling over farmland and getting into ground water is a bad thing. If the Republicans are really interested in making this work, then they should be willing to fund measures that would help minimize any damage that a burst pipeline could do. Hey, that creates jobs too!

You realize that a pipe line spill doesn't automaticially enter the water table and poison all of the water in existence, right.

You realize that a pipeline spill *does* have quite a few dangers if it happens right? Especially if it's in the middle of farmland.

/but then yah I *totally* see where he said it automatically poisons all water in existence.

Those things were already thought of. They skirted the path around the Ogalala and there will be plenty of cleanup supplies always around, inspectors, skeleton crews, etc. Lots of jobs.

The Tea Party is floundering because it's been tough for even Fox News to spin the crap that the GOP is doing in to something they can get behind.

They are fighting against the payroll tax cut, supporting the NDAA, supporting the SOPA....

These Teabaggers were screaming "unconstitutional!!!!" at the top of their lungs when Obama was passing laws to force the Health Insurance Companies to use lube when they butt rape us.... but they haven't said a peep as the Billl of Rights is actually being dismantled.

When Fox news can't pin it on the black guy and hit them with the Oooga Booga Secrit Muslim Socialism!!.... the Tea Party doesn't seem to care.

There are acceptable limits of lead in children's toys, for cryin' out loud. Everything you eat, breathe, touch, and smell has a certain amount of radiation. The EPA is in place to see to it that levels of toxicity don't rise high enough to hurt people and/or ecosystems, not to eliminate everything potentially toxic.

WTF Indeed: They don't need Sarah Palin because they already have four of the remaining presidential candidates, and the entire party has picked up their platform.

Interesting, so you're saying the lack of enthusiasm is due to being equally enthusiastic about Santorum, Bachmann, Perry, and (who?)? I don't really buy that. I think they're starting to realize that Palin didn't come across as credible to anyone but them and seeing the same traits in these three, as much as they disagree with them. Their lack of enthusiasm is due to the slow realization that their views are poorly considered and less relevant by the day. So they are just being less involved altogether. The process makes them feel stupid.

Fielding a third-party candidate in the Presidential election could be rejuvenating. Something to think about anyway.

Alzheimer's? Maybe not, but she *does* look like she's had a bit of the Botox.

I think that's why the bangs are hanging over the forehead here:

That hairdo is so very unlike what she usually has, it makes me think it's kiding her now unnaturally smooth forehead.

Smooth and umblemished, like the surface of her brain.

Follow up question: what is the acceptable level of crude oil in drinking water? Or for whatever chemicals they use to extract the oils from the tar sands? And in the event of a failure (terrorist attack, let's say), what's the worst that residents along the pipeline could be exposed to?

Like I said, if I were in Congress I'd be willing to make this work. But it would be irresponsible to ignore the concerns of people who would be most directly impacted by this.
