They don't have time to investigate Citibank, but Netflix is just doing so much wrong it can't be ignored.

If you were going to go after a target, which would you pick, the wounded bunny rabbit or the snarling pit bull with a lot of lawyers and friends in Congress and the administration?

Boy, that metaphor went in an unexpected direction.

I love how we're at the point where everyone knows stuff like this, accepts it as just part of life, and cannot raise any ire larger than "Damn politicians". It really is Fall of Rome type stuff around here.

I may suggest taking your chances with the pit bull.... it could be distracted with steak, or loads of money depending on which half of the metaphor we're speaking to.

So the SEC has said/filed nothing, but rumor drops stock prices. Yes, I see.

That there is nothing to see here but netflix's enemies (*well, non-Reed Hastings enemies) are spouting isht. Right.

Good thing they changed the name, I'd hate to be "Netflix" right now.

Good. I like my online video streaming service to be a little crooked.

Seems like a whole jar of candy beans won't be able to save Netflix from bad luck since they purchased the next series of Arrested Development. The Home Builders Office is unlikely to bail them out, so I guess it's Showtime!

Looks like Netflix is terminally afflicted.

sigh.

This is why we can't have nice things...

As one who had been burned by Netflix long ago and was saddened to see so many Farkers donning the red cultish robes in praise of that company all these years, I am having an Industrial-Strength Schadenfreude over watching it all come crashing down around their ears.

Does this have anything to do with how their CEO was selling his shares by the boatload until J.P. Morgan upgraded them to a "buy" the day after they announced their rate hike? Their stock has been falling through the floor immediately after that quarter's earnings report. I think there is definitely some collusion involved there with Netflix and J.P. Morgan

Just wondering, how were you burned exactly? I've song the praise of netflix before the multiple price hikes. But even now, for 7.99$ a month, I can stream enough decent programs where my wife can deal with not having cable. I was disappointed in the whole price hike service separation fiasco, but we honestly we're getting more then 2 or 3 movies a month in the mail anyway. Now we just use Redbox for new movies, and Netflix Stream for general TV watching. It sure beats 60$+ a month for cable.
