He's a criminal, first and foremost. The only reason I'd get a schadenfreude kick out of this is if he publicly ran on an anti-gay rights platform. Otherwise, the fact that he's gay doesn't add anything.

To be fair it's easier to adhere to a lifestyle that says "do whatever you want" as opposed to "everything is forbidden".

I'm not defending this guy and I don't agree with the social conservatives, but you can't directly compare the two in this regard. It's like arguing that vegans are wrong because sometimes they slip up and eat animal products whereas non-vegans never screw up and accidentally avoid animal products for their entire lives. Vegans are wrong, but that's not why.
