This new "teaching kids how to wash themselves" defense is an amazing display of desperation by Sandusky's mouthpiece. They must have gotten no hint of a deal from the DA if they're trying to float an innocence argument with all the victims lined up.

Sickening. I'd be surprised if someone doesn't Carl-Lee Haley those two coming out of the courthouse one day.

Since somehow Fark hasn't green lit a Sam Hurd story yet....

While not in the "disgusting" area like this story... if Hurd was supplying who we think he was probably supplying (in his locker rooms in Chicago and Dallas at least, and then who knows what other connections when opposing teams came to town), it has the potential to affect a lot of NFL locker rooms. Will be interesting to watch.

I have to think at this point, given the absolutely bizarre handling so far, that his defense lawyer is playing an elaborate joke on Sandusky.

That kind of answer makes me wonder if the answer is actually "yes, but I have the kind of socialized hangups about seeing erect dicks that most males are programmed by society to have and can't even admit to seeing another guy's boner lest someone, somewhere, think that even admitting I saw one in the midst of the owner committing a horrible act of abuse might make me, horror of unspeakable horrors, not entirely straight. Oh, and I took tons of shiat for my name as a kid. You do the math."

His lawyer backed off the "teaching how to shower" thing after he realized that it meant admitting that Sandusky was showering with boys. I don't have the exact citation, but he claimed the media took it out of context and that he wasn't specifically talking about Sandusky.

That, or trying to get the case thrown out on some sort of weird technicality, such as his utter incompetence?

I'd make a better lawyer than this guy (not that I would ever defend a rapist) and I got my GED in law from Fark University.

I find it hard to believe he just turned his tail and ran, just leaving that child there. I wonder what conclusion a 10-year-old rape victim would draw from that.

I don't understand how this would have helped. Didn't the local police help cover it up as well?

Anyone who helped covered this up should be executed. I don't care if they never personally raped a kid. Willingness to help cover up a crime should be punished just as much as the crime itself.

I think it might encourage people to call the police when they see a guy in the shower banging a kid instead of calling their dad. Wasn't he 26 years old? He has some responsibility here.

Most large campuses have their own police jurisdiction. If you call 911 it goes to the campus police because they're accredited state/county/local police. Depends on how it's set up.

My alma mater was pretty small (about 7000 undergrads, no grads) and our campus security were recognized as county police (meaning they not only had jurisdiction on campus, but in all the neighborhoods surrounding campus as well. We had a police chief and they carried guns and everything. The boring jobs were filled by students wearing yellow vests.
