Because? Pratt & Whitney have been powering US aircraft for as long as anyone(academic at this point), and CFM would take cash out of the country.

Don't get the headline, I've never had a bad JetBlue flight, and I've gone cross-country with them probably a dozen times. They were the first AFAIK to have real TV service, and in my experience were the first to break the smaller seat/less room model that the major US carriers were following.

CFM is 50/50 General Electric and french company Snecma. The IAE V2500 engines JetBlue currently uses are majority Pratt & Whitney engines. It takes less training to switch engine manufacturers than it does to bring in a new one. It's the reason pre-merger United had Pratts or IAE engines on everything they could.
