As a gooner, the toughest team out of the bottom 8 is AC Milan. We draw AC Milan. FFS.

Oh well, at least it is Thursdays, right Mancs?

We do match up well against Milan and it will definitely be a good pair of games.

AC Milan was the one team I was sort of hoping Arsenal wouldn't have to face yet, and then that's the draw. Oh well. I guess it's better than a 2600-mile round trip across multiple time zones to face FC Zenit in St. Petersburg, Russia. Maybe.

Bayern got an easy draw, but I'm not complaining. Let's hope they can pick up an easy win against Köln today too.

And just in case...

Lyon v APOEL
Napoli v CHELSEA
AC Milan v ARSENAL
Basel v Bayern Munich
Bayer Leverkusen v Barcelona
CSKA Moscow v Real Madrid
Zenit St Petersburg v Benfica
Marseille v Inter Milan

Napoli might get another English scalp if they don't sell everyone in the winter transfer period. And those two Manchester draws in the Europa look better than some of the CL draws

2011-12-16 09:24:20 AM
That draw was about as hard as possible for every English team

Dear, Man U.,

Suck it.

Also, gravity is not just a law, it's also a good idea.

Really looking forward to United v Ajax. I'd love United and Athletic Bilbao in the next round too.

TonnageVT: Watching Pogba and Petrucci!!

On Twitter, someone I trust said I can trust someone who said Pogba has agreed a new deal with United and it will be announced in the next few weeks. But Morrison is likely to leave at the end of the season because he's frequently late for training, is disrespectful to the coaches, and is pissed off that less talented kids have been given chances with the first team. Arsenal and, to a lesser extent, Chelsea are said to be interested in him.

You may or may not believe any of this (it is Twitter after all), I'm just passing it on in good faith.

AC Milan and Napoli were the two teams I didn't want to see, I have a feeling that if we hadn't drawn Milan, we would have drawn Napoli.

Napoli is good and very solid defensively and should be a challenge for Chelsea, who ever is playing.
this still feels weird without United invited to tho stage, but they have a great run and will be back.

Careful what you wish for. Ajax may come in playing pissed off and looking for someone to take it out on after the way they wound up in Europa.

Tough matchup. But Arsenal's group wasn't a cake walk either. Whatever happens, we made it farther than a couple other teams I can think of.

Madrid got about the worst possible draw, having to travel to Russia and play there in the cold winter.

Not necessarily. Remember the Russian league is off until March. Aslo, CSKA is good, but very beatable by Real Madrid standards
/Skipped the match the last time CSKA was in town... it was cold out.

Every team in the CL aside from Barca is very beatable by Madrid's standards.

Having to travel to Russia and play there in the cold Russian winter will negatively effect Madrid re: La Liga immediately following that match.

""For us, the most important thing is not to play in Russia, for the temperatures and the distance," Barcelona director Amador Bernabeu told The Associated Press."
