Did he get fined for the hit?

Subby, you can white-knight Harrison all you want - he's still not going to sleep with you.

The video at the bottom of the article is really...something. I don't think we needed a 3+ minute video of a 25 second incident.

30 years old and he plays in a "youth" band?

Surprisingly tame for Harrison. Would've been awesome if he'd have raced in and speared the guy.

Have you been in a church recently?
He's the youngest guy there who isn't dragged out of bed every Sunday morning.

I like the ref's reaction to Harrison. At first he was nonchalant, and then he realized that this was on TV and he better act like he cared.

So Harrison was REALLY trying to knock out Colt McCoy's secret drinking problem.

See Goodell? That's community service. I think he should get credit for that.

if this guy was able to get past Browns' security, they must be as competent as their medical staff.

That happened in front of where we sit. It was AWESOME! Far more entertaining than that game, anyway.

As a youth pastor, that's pretty accurate. Though it's mostly in the older protestant churches. The new non-denoms are pretty hopping.

On the downside, he now has to be sober in Cleveland.

Or apparently somewhere called Wooster. Which is like some dumb Ohioan spelling of Worcester.

It's actually pronounced "Wuhster," (where the cows go "Muh").

Nice College, some Amish folk, Rubbermaid Headquarters...that's all I got.

I don't know. The article is pretty suggestive:

FTA: "...one Cleveland Browns fan has at least some idea what it feels like to get drilled by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison... 'I had a little too much to drink,' he said, 'and one thing kind of led to another...' Harrison grabbed the 6-0, 200-pound Mallett from behind... 'The next thing I knew, I was staring up from the ground, at James Harrison...I didn't really feel anything. I was just kind of shocked and confused about what happened. It wasn't until a couple of days later that I woke up a little bit stiff.'"

Subby should thank his/her lucky stars. Sleeping with James Harrison apparently makes you a more likely target for him than playing for an opposing team does.

Preface: I kinda thought it was funny when it happened, and kinda still do.

However, this is a representative example of why Harrison gets in trouble. It was completely unnecessary to slam this douchebag in order to get him off the field. He seems to like to perform the action and then try to seek acceptance after the fact when, if he had just done it right the first time it wouldn't be so big.

Frankly, Harrison is lucky that he wasn't charged with some sort of assault.

After reviewing the "play", it was clear that the Browns' player pushed the drunk into Harrison. No foul.

Did he sue Harrison?

He should have.

You are not the police/stadium security, James. Keep your hands off the customers.

/and try to keep your helmet off of other people's.

Seriously? I can't view it here, and haven't watched that video in years. I thought he actively knocked the guy down, but that's just from my tainted recollection and a couple pictures I saw earlier of it.

Good luck with that suit, the microtext on the back of your ticket covers pretty much anything the NFL would want/need to do to their "customers" within reason, not to mention the judge in that case would take one look at the video and say that Harrison was likely acting in the defense of his team against a possible harmful incident.

I have no love for the Stillers in general & James Harrison in particular, but that dope deserved what he got.

Not completely serious. The Browns guy did give him a slight push before Harrison lined him up.

And that's what made it so completely awesome!!!! Opposing teams lining up on the fan...

I don't know, I suppose it was a little rough, but it looks like the ultimate goal was to get the guy on the ground and hold him down, which is exactly what I assume the security would've done.

They may not have DROPPED him like that, though...

I'm hoping for kidding. I just read the back of one of my old Bengals tickets, it doesn't say anything about allowing players to body slam you. Plus, this guy was jumping up and down cheering when our sociopathic buddy James decided to play sheriff/WWE. He was threatening no one, most especially the heavily armored professional football players surrounding him.

Maybe a judge would say the guy was a dumb ass, and brought it on himself. Maybe not. It would be worth finding out, especially since you'd get to sue him in Cleveland.

No it is Wooster. My family is from a town near it. They used to have a rubbermaid plant there.

I wouldn't say "slammed". More like picked him up, dropped him on his side then appeared to apply a joint lock on his wrist. (IMO)

You should watch some fan invasions in pro wrestling events sometime. My favorite example: Brian Hildebrand, aka Mark "Shooter" Curtis takes down a fan with a knee to the head and a guillotine choke

Since he wasn't injured, and was facing charges, I doubt there are many lawyers who would take it. What were the damages?

When a fan runs into the ring and attacks a wrestler, he usually gets the crap beat out of him before being dragged out, often by the wrestler. You watch that video? That knee to the temple ain't fake.

For everyone saying that he should have been sued...I'm no legal expert, but isn't that a reasonable use of force to effect a citizen's arrest for criminal trespass? As a player, even an opposing player, I'd consider him an agent for the owner of the stadium.

/Browns fan also.
