Ok that's it.

Release the lions!

Carney said the two students who organized the event earlier this week "had been warned not to do it anymore.

And there's your justification. Yeah, you're probably going to have the ACLU sue the school - and I'm sure Christians will carefully look away at that one and pretend it isn't happening - if they had been told previously, then blocked the entire hallway, the school probably wins.

Lions are drawn to Christians! What would have happened if a roving band of lions came upon 400 Tebowers?

/I am thinking some Christian got pissed.

They honestly said it was a fire hazard. As if Tebowing people can't hear fire alarms.

Well, shiat, everybody knows Owls can't hear fire alarms. I can see their point.

The question is, is this dumber that planking?

2011-12-16 12:43:57 AM
"It causes a potentially unsafe situation with 1,500 people in the building," Principal David Wicks said Thursday. "If you have 40 kids kneeling down in the middle of a hallway, and God forbid a fire alarm goes off, they could potentially stop someone from getting to safety."

Because the people Tebowing are just going to keep kneeling there and waiting for the fire to take them to heaven...

Last fire alarm test the stairwell was jammed with women playing on smart phones all the way down. I'm doomed....

They're flammable and they have legs - they're not blocking anyone exiting in case of a fire.

Yes, of course, because when there's a fire alarm those kids are going to stay right there Tebowing away while the rest are blockaded into a fiery doom. The retarded things people think of in the name of 'safety'.

is pooping allowed in school?

because what if a fire breaks out and you are mid-log ejection? and it's being difficult and you can't hurry things along.

what happens then?
PEOPLE DIE, THAT'S WHAT

we must stop all pooping in schools

......aaaand the magic word, "inappropriate," excuses any administrative stupid, reactionary nonsense- just fill in the blank. And don't forget "potentially unsafe" if that seems a bit weak. Yep. That'll do it.

It's ASTONISHINGLY hard to light a modern (east coast) school building on fire. The things are made almost entirely of cinderblock and steel! Cinderblock walls, steel roofing members, steel roofing, etc. Even the furniture is made of hard plastics. Any fire is going to be well-contained anyway, due to the utter lack of readily combustible anything.

The insane overemphasis on fire safety that most school districts practice (as opposed to more likely disasters) is completely uncalled for.

Oh, for fark's sake. You don't have to make up bullshiat excuses. Just say it's become a disruption and be done with it. When you spew obvious bullshiat lies, you lose credibility across the board.

It seems to me that if a fire broke out, those kids who were Tebowing would be well positioned to break into a sprint for the exits. The position is not far from that of track runners in starting blocks. They should reorganize and demonstrate the potential boost to evacuation times, then they can tell the principal to take his bullshiat safety concerns and STFU.

/Let kids be kids once in a while.

The Principal is not only a puckerbutt but, maybe necessarily, a liar. I wonder if, as the 'safety' nonsense was coming out of his yaw, he realized how lame it would sound.

2011-12-16 06:59:20 AM
Also I'm doubly an idiot. Carry on.

2011-12-16 07:05:59 AM
Kids were warned not to do it again. They ignored warning. School wins. (Asshat "fire drill" reason not an issue, except for one of ridicule.)

Also, keep your damn prayer out of our schools! You are endangering the atheists! :-D

Proof that post secondary education does not mean you have common sense. I feel sorry for this principal's kids to have someone this stupid as a parent.

I'd rather see someone be honest and say "because it was a dick move" than hear the lame "maybe possibly interfere during a fire alarm" crud.

Cause Tebowing and hearing firealarms are like making faces and getting smacked on the back. When it happens you are frozen like that.

Does that have anything to do with kids kneeling, or are you a farking moron?

What would the ACLU sue for? Not even the students or the parents have said they were praying or doing anything religious. The kids admit they were just being attention whores, which is not yet a protected class of citizens.

Ah, educators... drinking the nectar of unbridled liberal ideals through college, dreams of sticking it to the man running through their heads, only to find themselves in positions of authority, desperately building frameworks of authority that absolve them of any guilt. (Zero Tolerance/Safety)

"There were two students who were insubordinate," Carney said. "That's why those kids were suspended.

It sounds like they weren't suspended for kneeling in the hallway. They were suspended for mouthing off. That seems to be the only difference given between the two that were suspended and the thirty eight that weren't.

Senior soccer player Jordan Fulcoly, who said he participated in the activity, described it as "a bunch of kids trying to have fun. Tim Tebow is the most famous athlete in the country right now. But in [the administration's] defense, they said it made some students late for class and there was the potential for fights."

Sounds like the words "fun" and "disruptive" are interchangeable to these kids. It also sounds like at least one of the kids has learned the error of his way, unlike the parent of the other snowflakes.

2011-12-16 07:56:43 AM
It's not hard to see what happened here. 40 people doing the same thing at once? The principal probably had no freaking clue what Tebowing is and thought it was some sort of gang activity. Didn't find out what it was until afterwards and now has to come up with some BS flimsy excuse.

Also, apparently their schools' fire alarm is so loud it renders people blind and stupid.
