Go Jags!

Eh, probably not.

this is late and i missed the official sunday thread, but......did anyone else get the sense that, after Tony Romo completed that last pass to put the Cowboys within FG range, that he was thrilled he wouldn't be on the field when they attempted the game winning (or was it tying?) FG?

they showed a replay after that last pass and the look on his face --and admittedly perhaps i'm reading into it -- but the look on his face seemed to be that of "thank god i won't get blamed for screwing up if we lose". plausible deniability and all.

Yeah, lol, same here. But hey, they did beat Baltimore, and those birds are better than these.

Geaux Jags!

Yes, you are reading into it. He completed a pass to put his team in FG range. He was relieved. Wouldn't you be relieved? Dan Bailey's been pretty reliable as a kicker, so there wouldn't be much reason to not be relieved.

In other news, looks like the admins are making up for that late rankings thread by giving us a super-early game thread. :)

Yup. An Atlanta loss puts the Saints as NFC West champs, yes?

Plus it has the added benefit of us getting a dose of Matty Ice Face and also Mike Smith into paroxysms of rage. A win-win all around!

Crappy game, but MoJo on turf is always a treat.

I'm angry.

See, I figure "hey, Falcons on Thursday.. maybe there's a good chance I'll see a game I actually want to see on Sunday now.. hooray!". I figured this was prime opportunity for Fox to show the Panthers-Texans game here. Nope. Saints-Vikings. No one wants to see that shiat. Why, Fox, why? What did Atlanta do to you?

Saints still have to win against Minnesota to get the T-shirts and hats. Not a fan of realignment, I see? lol

I hope Aaron Rodgers gets a belt-related hernia.

2011-12-15 01:37:07 PM
..eh, after thinking about it some more, I guess Saints-Vikings has more divisional implications, and since the Falcons haven't been eliminated from the division title yet (I believe that can change tonight, no?) they figure it's more important to Atlanta viewers. Still, I would've thought a Carolina-Houston game would be more appealing to this area than a Saints game against a team that less-than-matters.

Bleh, maybe the Falcons can lose tonight, thus making the Saints game not matter and Fox will change their minds on Sunday.

Yeah, decided to make things all difficult for themselves by losing to the Rams.

Nice to see two teams I don't have a rooting interest in, in a meaningless game. Pure football joy--watch if you love NFL football--remember this when missing it in May.

Oh yes. That execrable game... the Rams. Lost to the Rams after hanging 60-odd on a hapless Colts team. I had blocked it out of my mind. Plus I'm at work and my brain is not. Meh.

Figures that if Atlanta was going to get a Thursday nighter, it would be leading into the Saints rematch.

This game will be terrible, but there is always the chance of MJD going on a tear, I suppose. But, more likely we'll get crap for three quarters, then the Falcons running the no-huddle for 2-3 4th Q TD's.

Well, I'll be pulling for the Jagwaggers tonight out of pure spite anyway. Plus, a Jax win improves the Panthers' draft position.
So Samuel L Jackson, Jeff Foxworthy, Evander Holyfield and Jimmy Carter can all suck it.

So the thread for last week's game, which people actually cared about, didn't go green until after the game started, but this week's thread is already up for this dog of a game? Ridiculous.

If Atlanta doesn't win by two touchdowns I'll be shocked. They're going to give Jacksonville the teef.

It's seems like the jaguars are on national games way too often.

And by that I mean "ever"

I'm afraid you're right about the Falcons giving the Jags the business tonight. Wish it were otherwise, and I hope it turns into one of those Awarding-Of-The-Delhomme type games, but I don't think it is to be.

Oooh, Matty Hype joining VY as a wire-to-wire winner of The Jake...that'd be lovely. That and victories by the Saints and Steelers this week.

Well, the Neckbeard DID hit a 50.0 in his first shot against the Pack, that's true, and now that he's rusty...that's must see TV right there.

Aren't you adorable. I don't CHOOSE not to have NFL Network, sweetness. There's not all that much I can do about it, and since their Thursday night schedule is filled with dog games like this one I'm not particularly upset about it.

And Chargers. It would be best if the Chargers were victorious this weekend.

Losing Cutler & Forte wasn't a big deal for the Bears, but potentially losing the irreplaceable Sam Hurd might just do them in.

Geaux Jags!

Now, if I have my math right (which I usually don't)... if the Dirty Birds lose, the Saints clinch the division... correct?
