2011-12-15 10:52:42 AM
Yes, the CTS-V. I haven't bought it yet because it is a summer only car and I already have one of those.

2011-12-15 10:53:18 AM
G37 coupe.

Kids need a bigger back seat.

Also snow concerns.

2011-12-15 10:53:57 AM
2001-2002 BMW M Coupe, I'm hunting one down right now.

2011-12-15 10:53:59 AM
Yeah, but it's not really a necessity so there really isn't a point in me getting it.

2011-12-15 10:54:23 AM
Yes, i call it the wife's car.

/I lurve my Tundra!

I like my TL-S. But what I *really* want is like an MG or Fiat to tinker with and fix up. I could easily afford one...having a place to let it sit while I dicked around with it is another story.

2011-12-15 10:55:31 AM
I can't even afford a matchbox car

Public Transportation FTW!

2011-12-15 10:55:38 AM
Is this where I show my ecosmug by talking about how I don't own a car?

2011-12-15 10:55:39 AM
I can't say if it's a `car':

I've informed Mrs. Henry that I'm due for a midlife crisis and need one of these.

I want to get an old mustang or charger and restore it. I just don't have a place right now to do the work in.

2011-12-15 10:56:12 AM
I'd really like the 335is

I haven't bought one yet because I am saving money for the eventual house/condo purchase next year. And, well, I would die trying to pay for both.

2011-12-15 10:56:22 AM
Yes

Because it isn't street legal in the US for emissions reasons

VW Scirocco

2011-12-15 10:57:22 AM
Wait. Is this just some tfette trying to figure out how much money we have?

VW Scirocco

I had one many, many years ago. It was a fun car even though mine happened to be a POS.

I have one of these:

and one of these:

Yeah, an old Renault Alpine A110. Unfortunately I suck at maintaining old treasures like that due to a complete lack of mechanic skills and company leasing is cheaper so I probably won't ever buy one.

2011-12-15 10:58:35 AM
My affordable dream car tends to change every few years. Several years ago I wanted a Malibu Maxx. I liked the quirky styling. I bought one used a few years later. We traded it in when the electronics started to go haywire. We traded it in for our new affordable dream family car: Ford Flex. We wouldn't have been able to afford it, but we found a factory-used model that was $10k cheaper than others with same year and mileage. The carfax was clean. It was a company car at the factory where they were built.

My new affordable dream vehicle: I want one of those new F-150's with the twin-turbo direct injection ecotech V-6. V-8 torque and V-6 fuel economy. Extended cab long bed with 4x4. I'll trade in my current F-150 for a used one in a few years.

Matter of fact I do, but having a car in the city is more trouble than it's worth but when baby numero dos comes along we'll probably go and get us our volvo

the new one is badass.

i was saying recently, my german neighbor is friends with a local group of VW engineers (VW had a testing facility somewhere out here). last summer they came over as they sometimes do (they get their German on) and they had a Scirocco out front. It had those goofy ass fake panels on it you see in Car and Driver to i guess psych out other car comapny spies.

that sled was tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. farking badass.

but alas, not sold in US.

Morgan 3-wheeler? Is that the old one or the new one with the Harley engine?

Volvos are wonderful cars! You have exquisite taste in automobiles!!! Safe, reliable, stylish. I greatly admire your decision and couldn't agree more!!!!!!

I could buy a '71 Mustang, but that would be a pretty terrible way to spend what we've got set back so far. Maybe in a few years once we've bought a house.

VW lent my esteemed employer (Renault) a new Scirocco when it was just getting released into the market. I got to take it for a half-hour spin around the Autobahn near Cologne. It was depressingly awesome. I think they were just taunting us, telling us "THIS IS THE KIND OF CAR YOU FROGGIES WILL NEVER BUILD, AHAHAHAHAHA!"

New. I don't think they went with the Harley engines. Most car-critics call the thing `ridiculous, impractical but fun as hell' to drive.

I don't really have a dream car. I want a plug-in electric because I love the idea of not having to fill up.

2011-12-15 11:08:31 AM
Yes. I can't fit and it wouldn't work well in snow.

I saw it in the Automobile Magazine from a few months back. They tested it with a Harley plant. It does look like spectacular fun.

I have wanted one of these for as long as I can remember:

220.245.130.52

I don't have one because it would be totally impractical.

2011-12-15 11:11:24 AM
I don't really understand it but I really love the old Jeep Grand Wagoneers with the wood on the side. Haven't bought because the wheels on my VW haven't fallen off yet.

But I am going to pick up a Lexus 430 convertible for my wife soon. Haven't bought yet because she already has a convertible. (and I am cheap)

We have a '98 Volvo station wagon. It's AWESOME.

Afford right now? No.

Should be able to afford either one when I have my mid-life crisis:

Ferrari Daytona Spyder (Kit Car)

Ferrari Testarossa......'86-'89 model, white paint job

Optical Aleutian: "THIS IS THE KIND OF CAR YOU FROGGIES WILL NEVER BUILD, AHAHAHAHAHA!"

that's funny.

I would like a VW Golf. I really like the new ones. that's probably my dream car.

Even if I had a ton of money, I don't think I'd spend it on a car. that said, I'll watch that BBC car show (the name absolutely escapes me -- "big wheels"?) and I can appreciate the workmanship and all the toys but......if it was my money, i just couldn't see spending even $100,000 on a car. I'd stick to something like a VW.

ehhh.

It's this, and I do own it. It's got a manual transmission, it's paid for, and it's altogether awesome. I almost never get car envy except for convertible BMW's. Since I would destroy a Beemer hauling my kids, dog and fishing gear around, I have no real temptation to switch.

That looks like the regular Z3 Coupe, I need the M and the S54, not the S52.

I would love a candy apple green Mercedes. But it has to be an old model.

I'd like an M3, but I was born into a UAW family and would catch too much hell. We shall see, though...not practical at the moment but when the kids are older, I may have to weather the storm.
