"Yet, none of these eight compares to the most damaging and offensive slur of them all. One, that when uttered, causes women to faint, children to cry, and men to spit on the ground to remove the taste of vile from their mouths. That word being 'Moderate'."

FTFA: It was an instantly defining moment. Perry had appropriated a word - "heart" - used by liberals when bashing conservatives about social programs, and suddenly a GOP electorate that had known little about Perry felt it knew enough.

His poll numbers plummeted, and he is still, nearly three months later, trying to climb off the mat.

This is all you need to know about the GOP base.

:(

Yeah. It makes me sad too.

"If you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for no other reason than they have been brought there by no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry told his rivals...

So, one of them is "Newt vs. the media" because conservatives hate the media. And, because conservatives hate the media, the media writes article after article quoting their batshiat insane talking points.

Christ, this article lowered my IQ to the point where I could win the Republican nomination.

Pretty much this. When caring about your fellow man, or children in this example, is a turn-off for a party's voter base..... well, yeah.

If this were a reality show, it would be hilarious.

But as it's part of the process for determining the person who gets access to the nuclear codes and represents this country on a world stage, it just makes me want to have a drink and try to forget how far America has declined.

Fark you, Rick Perry. I'm just as ignorant and bigoted as you.

Genevieve Marie: If this were a reality show, it would be hilarious.

I consider the GOP debates one of the funniest shows on television. It's also going to have a hell of a first season, it's already got more episodes under its belt than Firefly ever managed.

Yes. As one conservative (a real one) stated here, not only is it an ethical decision but a wise INVESTMENT. You don't say "fark you, kids", because those are potential future taxpayers, and it behooves us (as the state) to provide to them every tool we can _reasonably_ give them to do their best and perpetuate this great nation, etc. etc.

Also, they're kids, ferchrissake!

He later countered with "Yeah, but we're gonna execute us a retard today" and his numbers rebounded 5 points.

...unless we want to turn these children of illegal immigrants into criminals, then hey, who cares if we educate them, right? I mean, come on, FREE LABOR!!

It would be funny if I didn't know several people that nod in agreement with the retarded things these people say. It makes me sad that the same people who claim to serve Christ cheer when thinking about letting the sick die in the streets, boo when thinking about educating immigrant children, boo when asked to help the poor, cheer when asked to help the rich get richer at their own expense, etc.

To all you Christians that are voting Republican these days, your lord and savior has a message for you.

Huh. "Newt vs. The Media" is a pretty boring choice, for an article about the "most memorable attacks" of the campaign season. I'm surprised they didn't go with Romney saying "You gonna let me finish?" and putting his hand on Perry's shoulder. That moment was made of gold.

Wait ... no, maybe there's 9. Or, uh ... 10?

Maybe they were referring to his, umm, poem? Press release? Whatever this was:
