Does this surprise anybody? My cell phone fits in my pocket, has the latest news always, and doesn't waste a bunch of paper.

It surprises the people that own newspapers apparantly. The Tampa Tribune just laid off it's web team.

Was the obvious tag busy?

If only there were a way for people to actually hear the news while in their cars. Perhaps some sort of commentator could read the news aloud, leaving the drivers hands and eyes free to safely operate the vehicle.

/Nah, bad idea.
//Forget it.

I'm a 35 year old that reads a paper newspaper every morning. I've done so for the last decade at least.

I bust out the news on my smart phone when I take a crap though.

I moved to the Sunday edition of the Tribune just for the sports section and the ads. No need for a 7 day paper when I have the Tribune and Sun-Times app for free on my phone.

Being able to sit down and read the paper is a nicety more than anything.

Last Christmas Eve I didn't have work or to wrangle the kids so I treated myself by going out to a diner and getting the paper. I read it from cover to cover. It was the greatest gift I'd ever given myself in years!

I just lack the time in my everyday schedule to devote to a paper.
