Someone discovered how to use faders.

2011-12-15 08:49:12 AM
Woo... Sounds like wobbled/stuttered BT but a bit more mediocre than actual BT.

2011-12-15 08:51:07 AM
That is a little unsettling on headphones.
I think I'd like it better without all the fades.

2011-12-15 08:55:57 AM
If you can't dance to it, and it's not mellow enough to ride out a trip with, can it really be called electronic music, and if so, what's the point?

2011-12-15 08:57:44 AM
Wow. That must have taken at least half an hour to do in Garageband....

Don't get the big deal about being "20-years-old" Many great musicians where around that age when they started, like Tony Iommi was 20 when Black Sabbath started and Eric Clapton was only 18 when he was with the Yardbirds.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great trax and a good find, just saying age is irrelevant in this case.

2011-12-15 09:01:07 AM
It is too early for this shiat.

2011-12-15 09:01:59 AM
Just saying Dubstep sucks. Seriously, it's awful. It's shiat.

That sucked almost as much as subby's mom.

I hate to be "that guy" but dubstep is just plain ol' uncomfortable music to listen to.

Uh yea, that's not even really dubstep, that's just plain electro...

So all 50 "dubstep sucks" commenters sure to descend upon this thread, please take your walkers and analog music and return home to guard your lawns. I'm sure whatever music you listen to sucks as well.

"Not Affiliated" my ass. So, which Admin has a 20 year old dubstepping sibling and/or sex partner?

Agreed.

Dr. Nick Riviera: That sucked almost as much as subby's mom.

But Subby's mom is probably pretty proud that subby got some more hits on the music he made.

Yeah and it was pretty bland.. and the use of fades made me want to take my headphones off for a bit

I think this guy doesn't get why a lot of folks like dubstep to begin with. Because it tends to sound ANGRY. It's angry techno... Transformers farking, whatever you want to call it. This sounds like that one ballad on every Slipknot album you try and pretend is not there.

damnproud1388: Uh yea, that's not even really dubstep, that's just plain electro...

Plain Electro-House? Plain Electropop? Plain Electro-nnica? Plain Electro-funk? Electrostep? Electro-Jazz? Plain Electro period?

You know that feeling you get when you lean back in a chair and almost go over backward, but then catch yourself? Yeah. That music makes me feel like that repeatedly.

No thanks.

b) please stop with the side-chaining, it makes me dizzy.

We live in the "50 is the new 30" world, where people act like having a kid at 26 is like having one at 16. What do you expect?

They replaced the WUDWUDWUD with a pattern of turning the volume all the way down and back up so it sounds like some audio distortion which is right damn annoying. The rest was meh, but I could listen to it for about a minute before that effect just made my head hurt.

2011-12-15 10:26:27 AM
My first thought was that it sounded like a generic anime intro theme song before the singing kicked in. But instead of singing there was horrid fading.

/I'd say 'Air' or 'Kannon', sounded really similar to the intros for those two to me

I remember when my old college roommate dropped $500 on turntables and a mixer. For about three months he thought he was DJ Dara making fat beatz. Except his only trick was the same fail ass use of fade and volume as this newb. It wasn't cool in 1999 and it certainly is not cool now.

Hang up your overpriced gear, kid. Flipping volume levers up and down isn't how you make electronic music. You're just embarrassing yourself.

Just in case you didn't read the rest of the thread, it's not Dubstep at all.

multimedia.billybrew.com

Great, the same Am-Fmaj7-G progression for 5 1/2 minutes, except instead of going "oontz oontz oontz", it goes "oon... tz, oon... tz, oon... tz." I guess that qualifies as "awesome" and "melodic" in failmitter's world.

/and stop playing with the farking faders.

I don't think it's as much an anomaly that someone that age can play music well, but it is rare for people that age to have noticeable success. Sure, it happens (Bieber, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder), but when it does it's often not self-made success; it's because you have a stage-dad or you're "discovered" by Berry Gordy or that old fat guy from Florida.
