Indeed.

Is this written for the Roman Catholic church?

Somebody has far to much time to their hands. But if you are going to take a while doing something entirely pointless, this is a good way to go about it.

What next? "Why don't we do it in the road" in Esperanto?

This is the best thing I've ever seen.

I love that the english translation is NOT the original english

Aren't you glad you speak english?
Don't you wish everyone did?

Where is the translation for:

Me so horny?
and why can't we get great cloying little pictures next to our names? (shutter)

http://userpic.livejournal.com/7368085/738870

Me so horny. Me so horny. Me love you long time.
(BTW, does anyone know the source of that classic quote? And I don't mean the 2livecrew use of it. The orginial source from some movie or TV show.)

This rules.

Doesn't 'nor' have to be preceeded by 'neither'?

Me so horny. Me so horny. Me love you long time.

Full metal jacket?

sproko,

Wasn't the 'I feel as though sexual relations would be particularly pleasing at this exact moment, I would like to engage in them for an extended period of time' quote from Hamburger Hill or Full Metal Jacket?

spocko

It originally (kinda) comes from prostitutes in Saigon during the Vietnam war, as confirmed by several vets I have spoken with (my father included). I don't remember if the phrase pops up in the "me love you long time" scene in Full Metal Jacket.

2003-10-11 09:25:46 AM
I couldn't stomach the whole post - what was the translation for 'when there's a round thing in your face you get SPRUNG!'

2003-10-11 09:25:57 AM
Repel them! Repel them!
Make them relinquish the ball!

"Me so horny" is definitely from Kubricks film Full Metal Jacket.

Some pseudo Latin, with "translation."

O sibili, ergo fortibuses in ero! O nobili, demis trux. Si vadis inem, causen dux!
(Oh see Billy, there go forty busses in a row! O no Billy, them is trucks. See what is in them, cows and ducks!)

Caeser ad erat forte. Brutus adsum jam. Caesar sic in omnibus, Brutus sic intram.
(Caesar had a rat for tea, Brutus had some jam. Caesar sick in [omni]bus, Britus sick in tram.) -- makes sense to the British.

I have enduring hopes that those clad in rose colored stocking feet shall prevail over the Northern Hoarde to advance themselves to the penultimate competition of the american rounders style leisure activity.

and, as I heard in a trip to Fenway last year - "Yankees suck, Jeter Blows shirts $5!

2003-10-11 09:42:11 AM
linewalker,

better translation --

beneath which is a spherical mass which makes my loins come to life with joy!

2003-10-11 09:44:04 AM
Waffle

corn = horn in French? So when you're horny in France you're 'corny'??

2003-10-11 09:45:44 AM
Me thanky. Me thanky long time.

2003-10-11 09:47:50 AM
Heck, I dunno. I used Alta Vistas Babel Fish doodad to translate the song into French, then back into English. I know 3 words in French, Parlez-vous franais?, and thats it. I don't know if that even counts as 3 words....

MrGuilt Is this written for the Roman Catholic church?

Nope. There's nothing about farking little boys in there.

2003-10-11 10:05:53 AM
"The boyfriend of one of those rhythmic oration people."

Oh, that must be remembered.

Later.

2003-10-11 10:06:11 AM
Well, that would be more appropriately translated as :
(You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the discovery channel)
To et moi, cherie, ne sont que des mammiferes, donc fesons-le comme ils font au canal decouverte.
Babelfish translated it like maritime channel, not the tv channel. But cute, all things considered. I'm impressed.

On another note, isn't the line "ooh, rubber smooth skin", not something about wrinkles or cellulite?

2003-10-11 10:12:14 AM
awesome

2003-10-11 10:13:23 AM
This is the funniest damn thing I've ever read.

Now I have to take 2nd year Latin next spring.

2003-10-11 10:20:49 AM
spocko - Kubrik lifted that line from a 1969 film called Virgin Soldiers, based on a Leslie Thomas book. Me so horny, me love you long time, sucky farky five buck.

I'm speechless, simply speechless!

Now where's the VIDEO?

2003-10-11 10:26:35 AM
Oh. My. God. Actually, I'm surprised no one in Latin Club ever did this. ::passes this on to all her geeky friends::

2003-10-11 10:36:28 AM
amanita: I believe the actual line in the song is "Rumple-smooth-skin" a twist on "Rumplestiltskin"....

At least that's what it said on the karoke prompter

\not proud

At least that's what it said on the karoke prompter

Be proud, Baby Got Back is one of the classic karoke songs.

(Do your girlfriends have large buttocks? [They certainly have!])

I love this lad

2003-10-11 11:08:24 AM

I am very amused.

Too bad my latin has gotten so rusty. Was I the only one whos parents bought them childrens books in latin?

2003-10-11 11:22:15 AM
Guess my three years of Latin i took in prep school finally pay-off. Beats reading about Caesar and the Gauls.

2003-10-11 11:48:03 AM
I really wish latin really was dead.

2003-10-11 11:49:18 AM
"Me so horny" is from Full Metal Jacket, as is the phrase "Oh i like you, you can come over to my house and Fark my sister"

Fight Fiercely, Hahvud!
(T. Lehrer, '47)

Fight fiercely, Harvard, fight, fight, fight!
Demonstrate to them our skill.
Albeit they possess the might,
Nonetheless we have the will.

How we will celebrate our victory,
We shall invite the whole team up for tea. (How jolly!)
Hurl that spheroid down the field,
And fight, fight, fight!

Fight fiercely, Harvard, fight, fight, fight!
Impress them with our prowess, do!
Oh, fellas, do not let the crimson down,
Be of stout heart and true.

Come on, chaps, fight for Harvard's glorious name!
Won't it be peachy if we win the game?
Let's try not to injure them,
But fight, fight, fight!
Let's not be rough, though!
Fight, fight, fight!
And do fight fiercely!
Fight, fight, fight!

2003-10-11 12:23:01 PM
Reminds me of Japanese class when I translated the themesong for the old cartoon Hercules into Japanese and then did a direct translation back into English. It was most amusing.

2003-10-11 12:25:24 PM
Cute, though mostly waisted (ha!) on me. My latin is magna weak. Is it even close to pun the Roman gang-bang girl saying "E pluribus inme"?

2003-10-11 12:44:32 PM
Encourage them therefore to shake them! [To shake them!]
To shake them! [To shake them!]
To shake those healthy buttocks!
My mistress stands out behind!

Splendid.

2003-10-11 12:49:57 PM
Ok... where did 'my anaconda' go, he feels left out...

2003-10-11 01:10:35 PM
