It's basically solid bone and muscle, and a major defence mechanism. If something tries to chase them down their burrow they can use their arse to trap the pursuer's head against the burrow wall and crush them.

Wombats are the only wildlife you swerve to avoid on the road; you run into one of those and they WILL write your car off, then get up and walk away.

Order of doableness. I think #3 is the only one I'd score highly our of 10.

Proportion thing is probably due to camera angle, feet being much closer to the lens.
