"Dungeons & Dragons deities"? Wat.

2011-12-14 09:29:48 PM
Um, no, if you read the article, Subby, he's wants to raise the fines BECAUSE OF and DURING the G8 summit. He's not trying to pretend the increases have nothing to do with the summit. What the hell is this "just in time for" crap?

That being said, I don't like it, but it is a shrewd move...

FTA: The proposal introduced at today's City Council meeting also would allow Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy to deputize officers with other agencies, including the FBI and Illinois State Police.

Fark you.

I for one can't understand why these elitist G8'ers don't hold their meetings in a place where they can be certain of their privacy, where they can cook up their schemes unmolested by the unwashed masses.

2. What did Bush do at a "federal level" regarding Free Speech Zones?

3. The "It's just a piece of paper" quote was a work of fiction by a left-wing shill.

QUIT RESISTING!

2011-12-14 11:49:29 PM
I don't suppose you guys have noticed what's been lacking from the protests in Chicago, right? And that's because the police department under Rahm's direction has been coordinating with the protestors over on LaSalle. Of course, when some of the protestors decided they wanted to try squatting in Grant Park, that was taken care of calmly and reasonably. But there was no head cracking, minimal arrests and so on. Talking about Emmanuel like he's the mayor of Oxford, MS in the 60's is just silly. (Of course, it helps that the protestors here have been mostly reasonable in acting like, well, protestors instead of pulling silly stunts like the dolts in Oakland who though trying to set up a village in front of City Hall was a good idea.)

Emmanuel is being a responsible mayor and preparing ahead of time to minimize the kind of crap that you get when G8 protestors with their nutbar conspiracy theories come to town and wreck the place, like in Toronto and so that you also don't get the police overreaction that happens in such cases.

2011-12-14 11:50:17 PM
The proposal also would appear to give the mayor greater power to sign contracts related to planning security and logistics without City Council approval.

Step Three: Eliminate City Council

And was also rejected less than two years later when he was a little to abrasive..

I don't think there is a problem admitting that he may be an overachiever, and sort of a douche. Liberal Douches do exist. Barney Frank might be personally a douche, but funny as hell too.

/I think the agent on Entourage was based on this guy's brother. Another brother might be a surgon.

So, he lasted longer than the average Chief of Staff does, and left to run for Mayor of a premier city in the US. Yep, totally rejected.

Not really. My vote would be for a February summit in Resolute, Nunavut, which has an airstrip and four hotels. If it has to be in the United States, then there are a number of charming little communities on Alaska's North Slope where the temperature in August usually stays above freezing all day.
