You could just write "Democrats bend over" and submit it for every political issue from now until eternity.

Much ado about nothing. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

President Barack Hussein Obama has already publicly stated that he'll simply disenfranchise the entire population of the United States of America via bypassing Congress and he'll do what he wants to (new window).

Meatzilla: Barack Hussein Obama

I wonder, do you use Obama's full name in an effort to not-so-subtly remind everyone that he has a middle eastern second name and is therefor an "other" who is likely a terrorist?

I look forward to your posts about Willard Mitt Romney, Jon Meade Huntsman, Jr., and Ronald Ernest Paul.

/now I remember why I had you on ignore....

The article title and Subby's are misleading.

FTA: Democrats have made the proposed millionaires' tax central to their plan for the payroll tax cut extension, and officials stressed no decision had been made on whether to drop it. They spoke on condition of anonymity to talk about legislative strategy.

What I thought was interesting was the House's bill on the payroll tax extension where, instead of surtax on the wealthy, the Republicans want screw the middle class directly, even the elderly on Medicare.

FTA: Wednesday's maneuvering occurred the day after the House passed a payroll tax extension that contained no higher taxes. That House measure drew a veto threat from Obama that cited spending cuts the White House said would harm the middle class without requiring a sacrifice from the wealthy.

The bill would repeal nearly $43 billion from the year-old health care bill; extend a pay freeze on federal retirees while also increasing their pension contributions; and raise Medicare premiums on seniors with incomes over $80,000 beginning in 2017. It also would raise a fee that is charged to banks whose mortgages are guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

/Farkin' Republicans are really kissing the asses of the rich.

2011-12-14 06:07:00 PM
By the way, the freeze on federal retiree pay the House passed would impact military retirees too.

This is why military personnel should never, ever believe the Republicans are strong on defense. They just like to go to war with other peoples' kids.

Hopefully the Democrats do shut down the government and say precisely why they did. At least this one came up quickly and not with the months of talk about it before hand like the last one.

Doesn't matter: The point's been made, and now the GOPpers get to campaign on protecting millionaires at the expense of bascially everybody else.

Of course, the DumboRats will find a way to screw that up too.

edmo: Don't we have to pay for it? I mean, payroll tax cut, it has to be paid for!

According to the article the millionaire tax would have raised $140 billion over 10 years or $14 billiion a year. How about instead of rasing anybodies taxes we simply do things like stop MEDICARE from wasting the $50 bilion to $80 billion a year that they admit to? That alone would more than pay for the tax cut.

Government has more than enough revenue they just spend it poorly.

Probably will create more real jobs than that so called stimulus package at less cost to the taxpayer. It won't even go bankrupt like Solnydra

The Ogallala aquifer, as do many aquifer,s already has a bunch of pipilines over it with no problems.

awwww. congress couldn't get their hands on more money to piss away.

Speaking as a conservative, I'd be willing to see modest tax increases get passed, if it weren't for all the RETARDED farking spending going on in Congress.

I'd have no problem cutting defense spending also. Let's take a look at entitlements and defense as a percentage of spending. Let's cut each respective of how much we spend on each.

You game?

In a written statement late Wednesday, White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said the administration objected to several environmental, financial and other provisions in the mammoth spending bill and said Congress should approve a short-term spending measure to avoid a federal shutdown and give lawmakers time to iron out their final disputes.

How much farking time do the cartels need to strike their deals?

You mean like if it could only be used to pay down the principle on the national debt, had an experation date and was passed conjunction with a balanced budget amendment being sent to the states for ratification?

If so I agree.

How about this as a medicare cost cutting idea -- anyone over the age of 80 only gets painkillers paid for by medicare. every other treatment, test, visit, etc that people over the age of 80 gets, they have to pay for through insurance or out of pocket. We'll pump them up full of painkillers to keep them from being in pain, but anything else, they're on their own. That'll cut some goddamned costs. i'll make that deal, if we can get an increase of 5% to the top marginal rate on incomes over 1 million dollars.

Here's another bargain -- we allow whole states to completely ban all abortions, and in return there's no more pre-emptive war or death penalty?

My favorite: President Obama personally executes a hippy on live TV (through strangling), and in return we end the war on drugs. If you want, he'll execute a new hippy on live TV every week.

Yup, but you will still be voting for them in 2012 and I will be faced with a choice of staying home or voting libertarian (almost the same thing) given the current likely GOP nominees.
