The hypothesis that Sirhan Sirhan was hyp-mo-tized has been a staple on the "History" Channel for years.

Is this really new? The "hypnotism" theory has been out there for a while now.

I thought for hypnosis to work you had to be open to the suggestions in question.

¿Qué, Sirhan Sirhan?

Gun powder residue and soot (were found) in some head shavings taken from Kennedy's head wound. The police had stated that all 70 witnesses had reported that the suspect Sirhan Sirhan had been a yard away from when he fired at Kennedy. The precise location of the shooter's weapon was fired only three inches BEHIND the head and yet not a single witness had seen him fire behind Bobby's head at point blank range.

It's been a theory/defense since almost the beginning that he was some sort of (possibly coerced) Manchurian candidate. Awfully convenient that it occurred about the same time that idea became popular, though.

You have to be susceptible to suggestion, so in that sense you have to "want" to be hypnotised. But you don't have to want to do the thing you are hypnotised to do. (Apparently).

And this, my friends, is why the standard of proof for conviction involves reasonable doubt, not all doubt. The prosecution will never be able to prove that he wasn't hypno-controlled, but he's not fooling anyone.

Let me be sure I understand. You think it's unbelievable that a shooter standing a yard away from a victim can hold a weapon a few inches away from the victim? (Hint: What is the length of the average human arm?)
And you think it's unbelievable that the head wound doesn't seem to reflect the shooter's position? (Hint: As a politician walks through a crowd, how does he behave?)

No, but the coroner has gone on the record saying that the distance of the gun from Kennedy does not fit with the witness reports of Sirhan's distance from Kennedy. In short, the witnesses said the gun was much further than 3 inches away from Kennedy's head.

For those of you that think this is BSery just read Jesse Ventura's latest book; 63 Documents The Government Doesn't Want You To Read. Or if you don't want to, pick it up in a bookstore and skip to the part about MKULTRA. It's entirely possible to do this. My cousin's Aunt was experimented on in the Army. She contracted cancer, fought it valiantly for about ten years. Really long and hard fight. Then about a year and a half ago she tried to blow her head off. She said she got a phone call and the next thing she knew she was on the ground. She said she wouldn't have ever tried to kill herself because of all she went through fighting the cancer. Said she was perfectly fine afterwards and has been fine since. The stuff is more real than you'd really like to know. One of those things that can't be unheard. Scary scary stuff. There's other weird stuff that she experienced because of the experiments as well. Not getting into that unless you really want to know. It's really strange stuff.

Actually, few people think he didn't shoot Kennedy. The question is whether or not he was the only shooter.

He didn't write the documents, and he had about thirty or so pages of research notes so people could make up their own minds. Guess people can't help being ignorant. Wait, they can.
