During that election, he ran as the anti-war candidate

o_O

Meanwhile... Republicans are trying to have our soldiers' flights home diverted to Iran.

Welcome home, Troops. Have a beer, eat a pound of bacon and go out and get laid.

2011-12-14 12:44:57 PM
It is a good thing that our soldiers are returning home.

The bad news is that they have been subjected to war at all, leaving us with a vast number of twenty-somethings who are mentally scarred for life, if not physically scarred.

Also, Republicans have decided that "entitlement" programs like the VA should be slashed, so they won't get the medical or occupational help they need.

By the way, could someone tell the BBC they are not required to start a new paragraph for every farking sentence?

I mean, seriously.

2011-12-14 02:21:27 PM
Slashing jobs and raising unemployment... great job O'Bingowashisnameo.

2011-12-14 02:21:47 PM
Relatively Obscure: During that election, he ran as the anti-war candidate

Oh for God's sake.

He did not. In fact, if you morons had read a GOTTDAMNED thing he wrote, you'd see that he had ALWAYS planned on ramping up fighting in Afghanistan, and that he ALWAYS thought the war in Iraq was an expensive and bloody mistake.

Pretty much.

And let's bring as many home as possible. 'bout damned time.

Welcome home, have some sex, pack your bags cause yourass is going to Afghanistan

2011-12-14 02:39:22 PM
I'm glad they're back. I hope the safety net is big enough for all their needs.

Still missing my friends in Afghanistan. :(

2011-12-14 02:42:20 PM
EnviroDude: Welcome home, have some sex, pack your bags cause yourass is going to Afghanistan

So what you're saying is we're also not drawing down there? You might want to tell some returning Afghan troops that.

Welcome Back!

Good luck finding a job.

Welcome to Fark.

And Welcome Back Troops. Great Job, We're Proud Of You!

Obama is one down one to go.

Darth_Lukecash: Welcome to Fark.

Y'know, you SAY that, but do you MEAN it? *sniffle*

2011-12-14 04:13:47 PM
Support troops in a volunteer army: the real heroes.

2011-12-14 04:13:56 PM
I'm not Obamas biggest fan by any stretch, but he did manage to not mess Iraq up enough that we had to stay longer. And that's good.

2011-12-14 04:14:32 PM
Welcome home...from one of the most retarded conflicts our idiotic nation has ever instigated.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Well that's kinda the thing. Many are there because it's their job, and they're being paid, probably better than they'd get back home.

As such, the war "ending" may not be a welcome change.

2011-12-14 04:15:40 PM
All of them are out except for the 15,000 staying at the embassy.

acaciaavenue: Welcome home...from one of the most retarded conflicts our idiotic nation has ever instigated.

Vietnam was *WAY* more retarded.

2011-12-14 04:15:55 PM
Well, at least Bush got to call himself a "war president" with that farking smirk on his face, and got to strut around on an aircraft carrier like a tough guy.

Ask the mom who's boy came home in a box if she is happy about that.

2011-12-14 04:16:12 PM
Did he also tell them that he's not going to veto the NDAA? Why work in the middle east when you can work at detainment camps here?

2011-12-14 04:17:14 PM
Let point out: They are coming home victorious. Iraq is a reasonably stable secular country with some democratic institutions.

2011-12-14 04:17:20 PM
The volume on that video goes to 11.

/ Good jorb, CNN.

2011-12-14 04:17:23 PM
Meanwhile Obama has been advised not to veto the NDAA. Good thing the troops put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms.

dittybopper: acaciaavenue: Welcome home...from one of the most retarded conflicts our idiotic nation has ever instigated.

Vietnam was *WAY* more retarded.

Both of them were full-retard. It's hard to measure past that metric.

Oh for Chrissakes. Spinning the fact that we're getting out of Iraq? Really?

2011-12-14 04:17:32 PM
ThisNameSux: All of them are out except for the 15,000 staying at the embassy.

Well, to be honest, I'd be up for it. They have really nice rooms and an omelet bar that's damned near impossible to beat.

/oooooh, the US Embassy.

2011-12-14 04:17:56 PM
It's about time, since he got us into this mess in the first place.

2011-12-14 04:18:31 PM
Two words? Enjoy Syria!

2011-12-14 04:18:33 PM
"Welcome home... well what's left of it anyway."

bighasbeen: Slashing jobs and raising unemployment... great job O'Bingowashisnameo.

That made me giggle uncontrollably.

That ^

I actually LOL'd at that. You probably think Star Wars is real too.

dittybopper: Let point out: They are coming home victorious. Iraq is a reasonably stable secular country with some democratic institutions.

It was reasonably stable and secular before this whole mess. Religion didn't become a problem until the oppression stopped.

2011-12-14 04:19:42 PM
I don't care about the politics on this issue right now.
I don't care about the history of these wars.
All I care about is that these soldiers are home.

// Has two sister-in-laws that served in Afghanistan.

2011-12-14 04:19:47 PM
"Bring it on!"

-- Bush

"Welcome home!"

-- Obama

2011-12-14 04:20:09 PM
Sincerely and from the bottom of my heart I say welcome home.

2011-12-14 04:20:14 PM
Welcome Home!!!

2011-12-14 04:20:16 PM
4 words for them: Have fun in Afghanistan.

Knara: dittybopper: acaciaavenue: Welcome home...from one of the most retarded conflicts our idiotic nation has ever instigated.

Not really:

Vietnam: 10 years, 58,000 dead, and we lost.
Iraq: 9 years, 4,476 US dead, and we won.

I'd say that Iraq was significantly less retarded than Vietnam.

2011-12-14 04:20:50 PM
Mugato: And this is going to be spun....

it was Bush's time table for withdrawing. Obama is just like Bush.

He's partially right. Sharia law implementation means that it's not secular, but they had peaceful protests this spring and have a functioning parliament that doesn't act as a rubber stamp for a strongman.

2011-12-14 04:20:58 PM
Men: If you see a soldier, buy him or her a beer.

Women: If you see a soldier, give him or her oral.

... and tell 'em thanks from me.

2011-12-14 04:21:36 PM
Vietnam was idiocy wrapped in a quilt of lies, Iraq was also waste of American lives and total misallocation of military resources.

2011-12-14 04:21:36 PM
twfeline: It's about time, since he got us into this mess in the first place.

/He gets blamed for everything else, anyway. Might as well pin Iraq on him, too.
