Is there really an epidemic of toast dropping going on? Why can't you people keep a simple piece of toasted bread from falling on the floor?

Newton's Apple did this before the intarwebs were useful.

Conclusion: Use smaller bread, which can flip twice. Or double the height of your counter top.

Yeah, back in like... 2004 or 2005. Far as I can remember, it lands butter-side up marginally (that is, a tiny bit) more than butter-side down.

I could be wrong though.

Just take a page from the priosoner's handbook; Don't drop the toast!

2011-12-14 04:52:40 PM
This is why I eat toast and butter separately.

2011-12-14 04:53:40 PM
I was wrong. It actually was a 50-50 split when done objectively... when done off the side of the table it lands buttered-side DOWN slightly more.

/And yes, it was 2005.

2011-12-14 04:55:15 PM
It's also know as Karastan's Law, and is generally expressed as, "The likelihood of toast landing buttered-side up is inversely proportional to the cost of the rug."

yogaFLAME: What if you tape two cats to each other?

When I was a stupid little kid I tied two cats' tails together with a piece of string. I soon found out that was a very bad idea as they were clearly going to kill each other, and I was afraid they would tear me to pieces of I tried to get it off of them. Finally crept up and got a cat under each knee and cut the string while they growled maniacally at each other.

/never did that again

What if the cat were to cling tenaciously to his buttocks as he was flying backwards? A rip in the space time continuum most likely.

I can't believe nobody has made a Heywood Banks reference, yet

All around the country and coast to coast
People always say what do you like most
I don't wanna brag I don't wanna boast
I always tell them I like toast

Yeah Toast!
Yeah Toast!

I get up in the morning about 6 am
Have a little jelly have a little jam
Take a piece of bread put it in the slot
Push down the lever and the wires get hot I get toast

Yeah Toast!
Yeah Toast!

Now there's no secret to toasting perfection
There's a dial on the side and you make your selection
Push to the dark or the light and then
If it pops too soon press down again make toast

Yeah Toast!
Yeah Toast!

When the first cave man drove in from the dregs
Didn't know what would go with the bacon and the eggs
Must've been a genius got it in his head
Plug the toaster in the wall buy a bag of bread make toast

Yeah Toast!
Yeah Toast!

Oui monsieur bonjour coquette
Uh huh croissante vous et ver
Maurice Chevalier Eiffel Tower
Oui Marie baguette bon soir

French Toast!
French Toast!

My father told me about when he was a kid, back in the 1950's, that this other kid in his neighborhood tied two cats tails together and threw them over a clothesline. Use your imagination on how that turned out.

/I don't like cats but that was a shiatty Story Dad
