I'm sure many US Senators will be very grateful to this man as they're using the house to conduct their hyper-orgies away from the prying eyes of the public.

That guy must HATE his relatives.

BTW, good job at squandering your wealth at the end of your life.

This guy must've been one of those Buchanan voters in 2000. On purpose.

Nothing could be more patriotic and true to the ideals of the founding fathers than to give everything you ever worked for to the government at the end of your life. Just kidding, WastedHero has it right. He hated his family. Also he lived in the house since he was a teen....hmmm may have lived with mom for a LONG time...the loafers might not have much heft to them either. NTTAWWT

I wonder if Uncle Sam has to pay an estate tax on that.

jst3p: I wonder if Uncle Sam has to pay an estate tax on that.

That is how they generate money duh!

1,000,000 50% tax
500,000 50% tax
250,000

So they can basically make an extra million off of the taxes on the 1 million house when all is said and done.

That is the saddest, and dumbest, thing I have read in at least a week. I can think of at least 10 better things the property could have done for the local community.

Government immediately hires three overseers at $500k each to administer the sale of the house an allocation of proceeds to various elements of the national debt.

There's probably more to this story. There may be a very logical reason why he did this.

Why should my kids get anything for free? I had to work hard all my life to accumulate my wealth, and my kids should too! That's why I'm for a 100% estate tax. If you can't make it on your own, tough luck. You're not going to get bailed out by inheriting from mommy & daddy.

I knew a guy who I worked for who was fine with that. I'm glad I don't work for him anymore.
