I think the term they're looking for is "padded", not "push-up". A padded bra makes even a man look like he's got a bosom measured in cup sizes. Used to make the damned things all the time for Shakespeare plays in high school (cross-dressing being kind of a running theme).

A push-up bra is something different, it's not padded, it just has some very restricting underwiring.

Well, not really. But yes, large breasts would just make me look ridiculously disproportionate. But in a dress, without a padded bra, I look like I could play peter pan. Just like your situation; you would be cast as one of those tripods from War of the Worlds, instead of the male lead.
