I saw Alice Cooper at a bar Sunday night in Cincinnati. Here he is watching one of his roadies riding a mechanical bull:

The '70s version of Elvis doing karate? I don't think so.

He should have pulled the trigger.
1971 Elvis could still bring it. He would have died without becoming Fat Elvis.

CSB time.
Alice goes to the same church that my wife used to go to when she was younger. She used to go swimming over at his house. She says that he used to have wrought-iron snakes as door handles on his front door. Apparently she was friends with one of his kids in sunday school.
Bad story bro, time. I've still never met him.
/probably a good thing. I'd probably go all fanboy on him.

Ever since he became a Christian conservative Republican, he's been dead to me.

The pre-1983 Alice Cooper is long gone. All that's left is some dope who blew his career the moment he went coo-coo for Jesus Puffs and began to look even lamer than Larry Flynt's "born again" phase.

Worth it for that hilariously awesome Charlie Pride story. "Man, I would've been in church the rest of the day."

I came for the Alice Cooper almost shooting Elvis story, stayed for the image of Charlie Pride freaking out to a snake in the toilet.
I'm sure Cooper was tempted--but realized killing "The King" would have martyred him and made him more popular than he was alive.
I don't know, it would have been like Lady Gaga choking the living shiat out of Carrie Underwood.

Accoridng to his Top Gear interview it was golf that kept him from dying at 27 like many of his peers in music.

Apparently, you hadn't heard Alice Cooper's Boobies-born again album,
"The Last Temptation"
(where Alice tried to re-invent himself as a Christian rocker).
It's okay. No one else listened to it either.

Dude, he was just trying to balance out this:
Imagine the imbalance in the universe had that been left unanswered.

Elvis was probably wackier than Alice Cooper is, to be honest.

I saw Alice 3 times in Detroit and it was an incredible stage show. I highly recommend it.
But if you ever take acid and dress up for Halloween, make sure you remember the name of the garage you parked your car in. Walking around Detroit late at night tripping and dressed up for Halloween is no way to go through life.

It's a common misconception Elvis was fat during the last few years of his career, my folks have 3rd row pics of his last show in Toledo in April '77, and he was not fat at all. The last 4 months of his drug use really destroyed his body/life.

First time I saw him in concert was '74 -- his early stuff was great, but everything from Flush the Fashion onward pretty much sucked. And he just don't look right with the new teeth.
I'd still go see him live -- but probably wouldn't drive too far.

Seen him live several times. Always puts on a hell of a show, props or not.
My parents used to hang out with him back in "the day". They met him when he borrowed makeup from my mom and her friends when he was playing small clubs and opened for Iggy Pop. One of her friends dated Alice for a short time.

//thought it was bullshiat, but Renfield verified it for me about a decade ago, supposedly having asked Alice himself

Alice Cooper is one of the msot interesting guys I cna think of, insanely good golfer, owns a sports bar in Phoenix. Just to think he does not look like an athlete but he is. Good musician who paved the way for other unique charcters like Marylin Manson and Rob Zombie.
