It seems there was a reason
Teens were out of season
And one of the hunters wasn't insured.

That's what happens when you look like a large flesh-colored squirrel.

Ah, the always responsible hunter.

Personally, I don't think a license should be required for hunting teens.

It's not like we're going to run out of them.

2011-12-13 02:01:11 PM
The teens were COMING RIGHT AT THEM!

2011-12-13 02:03:44 PM
At the time of the shooting, one of the boys was going for a layup.

"So did he make the shot or what?"

At the time of the shooting, one of the boys was going for a layup. The other was waiting his turn to try out, Trevino said.

If they had given these basketball players guns instead of basketballs, this never would've happened.

2011-12-13 03:33:28 PM
Gee if only those kids had guns none of this would have happened.

2011-12-13 04:16:29 PM
Obviously, the problem is that middle-schoolers aren't permitted to carry firearms.

2011-12-13 04:16:29 PM
If more people in Texas had guns these things wouldn't happen.

Gonna have to change your handle, quickdraw.

Hunters? What are the chances that TWO kids get ACCIDENTALLY shot while at school? This sounds deliberate to me.

So when did Dick Cheney move to Texas?

You know, Charles S. Dutton actually killed a man.

/But his Surviving the Game character didn't succeed in killing Ice-T

Always be aware of your target and what is beyond it. You are responsible for your bullet until it stops. I shot 5 deer this year including 2 trophy bucks. I always make sure I know where my bullet will end up. It helps if you are up high shooting down. Never shoot at the horizon. These dumbasses make the rest of hunters look bad.

/knows where one more buck is living behind a rock quarry and has until the end of the month to get him.

//guns don't kill people... well, obviously I mean by themselves... sure sometimes they kill people... some of em do... but not on purpose... well sometimes its on purpose... but... nevermind.

Sure, in that one could cite several different sources for a quote like that. But if you want to go original... (new window)

Or it could be these guys

In other news, the school has voted to change the name of its basketball team to something other than the Harwell Bucks, and the uniforms will no longer include antlers.

WTF is it with gratuitous violence this Christmas season? Someone pissed that they didn't get a Christmas bonus or what?

and I say, "There's nothing to it!"
you just stand there looking cute
and when something moves, you shoot

fusillade762: Hunters? What are the chances that TWO kids get ACCIDENTALLY shot while at school? This sounds deliberate to me.

Hunter sees a deer near the top of a hill. He shoots and misses. The bullet goes a half mile further to the school. The deer doesn't move. Hunter takes another shot and misses again. The deer finally runs away. It happened to me this year with a doe. But I was 15 feet up a tree and shooting down into a valley with nothing but trees beyond. These guys were probably shooting up towards the horizon which you should never do.

In Texas, it's ALL horizon.

My father in law is an avid hunter and he won't hunt from anything but a tree stand. I asked him why and he said "too easy to shoot people if you're on the ground."

Possibly, but my guess is that their parents are still in Texas and either brought them with them as infants or they're anchor babies.

There are few times when Farkers embarrass me. This is one of them.

God forbid any of you ever have to live through something of this nature. I hope you never have to answer the phone and hear your inconsolably weeping wife on the other end of the line as she mutters the only words she is able to muster "Quinn was shot by a hunter".

Anyone who does the "welcome to fark" meme can DIAF.

From the article - Investigators have spoken with owners of surrounding farms and the land was being leased to deer hunters

Now that is weapons grade stupidity there. Really "surprised" this happened in that intellectual mecca known as Texas.

All they need now is for Condi to show up and say "Nobody could have ever predicted..."

I'm certain that these hunters will be caught, prosecuted, and subsequently fined.

/We're talking dozens of dollars here.
