But we all enjoy a good laugh at the monkey's expense. So if anything, this should be highly entertaining.

So, just going to say this to diffuse right-wingers later in the thread - I don't think comparing Gingrich to a monkey is fair. He doesn't look like or act like a monkey.

Now comparing him to a hippo, I could see. Or perhaps a pig. Of course, neither of those animals are known for climbing poles. I would say "the bigger the hog, the better the view of its asshole" isn't quite as snappy, but I guess it would work.

In any event, calling Gingrich a monkey is insulting to thinking primates everywhere and was in poor taste.
