High school game outside the stadium? That's your dodge? You know, I figured it probably was someone in the stands, but with that attitude, the 'haha, now I can get away with this' attitude there, I think he did tell his players to do it. The Saints were blowing a whistle.

If only NFL games were documented somehow, say with audio and video recording every action on or near the field, if such a blatant infraction came from the Saints bench we could determine it instantly.

Still no proof any of them cheated. They heard "something" that sounded like a whistle coming from somewhere over near the Saint's bench. Did that cause them to lose the game? Is a single random whistle all it takes to topple the mighty Titans? Instead of blaming themselves and finding ways to improve, they blame it all on an errant whistle from those damn Saints!

You don't stop play until you are sure the play is dead, and that includes the refs running up and literally pulling you off while blowing whistles left and right.

I would love to see the Colt's stadium hand out thousands of whistles to the attendees (if they have thousands of attendees). Let's see how loud those phantom whistles can get!

Haven't watched this myself, but NFL Films bothered to make this (dunno what their conclusion is, if any):
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-super-bowl/09000d5d8162c347/Do-the-Sain t s-play-dirty

I would disagree that the Saints are the dirtiest team, at least at present general opinion seems to fall with the Raiders (timeless) and Lions (more recent). But there is definitely a perception of Saints under Payton as a dirty team whether merited or not, haven't really seen evidence myself but that was around even before the SB year, sometimes there is truth behind those rumors.

I definitely want to believe it since Payton seems like an asshole whenever I see him interviewed. Including here.

With our backup quarterback, we almost stopped one of the best teams in the league, and if it wasn't for the refs not giving us that 4th and 1, which replays showed Locker got, we might have one. And even with that, we still almost won on that last play. Which makes it pretty easy to see why a team known to be dirty would indulge in anything to try to survive. A backup QB, and our star running back got 23 yards, and the Saints almost lost. Yeah, the Saints clearly wouldn't stoop to cheating to win.

Again, specific examples of cheating? Here's the thing - If Payton tells someone to blow a whistle, if the Saints players on the field don't know it's coming, aren't they going to react the same way to the whistle? And how do they know in advance whether it is a play to blow a whistle on so they can warn the guys on the field it is coming? Anything could happen after the ball is snapped. Would the Saints want a pick-six called back because there was an audible whistle blown?

Exactly. So you're just upset that y'all lost, and instead of blaming it on your team and their inability to finish, you decide to blame it on the "phantom whistle" that the Saints OBVIOUSLY blew to screw y'all out of a W. I mean it's just so obvious, how can everyone but Titans fans not see it?!

The Rams beat the Saints decisively back in October. They were winless going into that game.

I wasn't expecting the Titans game to be the nailbiter that it was, but the unexpected happens in the NFL. They played well, especially on defense, and made the Saints work for it. Fortunately, that happens to be something the Saints are good at.

You lost fair and square. Just suck it up. To just attribute it to unspecified cheating makes you sound petulant.

We had a backup QB in and CJ got 23 yards. This shouldn't have been a game, and you still needed the refs giving you a 4th and 1 we got to win. The Saints should have won by 20. You had to cheat and have the refs give you the game.

If I remember the Saints Super Bowl year correctly, the Bears upset Favre and the Vikes at the end of the season, a loss that contributed to the Saints having the home field advantage in that NFC championship game and, well, we all know the rest. So hey.

Yeah, I know everyone generalizes stuff like this for every fan base but hopefully people remember that two fans don't make a fanbase. Plenty of Chicagoans just like a good game and maybe some lighthearted shiat-talking over a beer, but know that sports don't matter all that much.

Instead we have to put up with people reminding us to be embarrassed on behalf of a couple dumbasses .

I know plenty of Bears fans who would've just grabbed their sign and torn it up, too bad none of us can afford tickets to Soldier Field :(
