I'm just going to post this in every thread about Tebow:

HawgWild: Our Tebow, who art in Denver, hallowed be thy name!
Thy victories come, because of thy defense, at home as it is at away games.
Give us this day our daily scramble.
And forgive us for bad passes, as we forgive those who make sacks against us.
And lead us not into the offseason, but deliver us from losses.
For thine is the playoffs, the hype, and the glory, forever and ever.

Decent headline for something so stupid.

Wow, really? It already had a name, and was happening decades before this running back found himself in the QB slot. Oh well, I guess they have to make everything news somehow.

You are correct. "Occupy" is in the lead and has far greater ramifications from a social prospective.

I don't want to make an effort that is too much of a stretch, but would it be too much to ask for maybe.. a 1 Tebow thread per day limit on green-lights?

I honestly don't get the whole Tebow hate for his praying during sport games. We didn't call it "Sandering" when Barry Sanders scored a TD and took a knee.

Tebow prays to God for help defeating the Bears.

At least until he crashes and burns, yeah. Maybe it's not very Christian of me, but I'm really going to enjoy the schadenfreude when he's humiliated in some spectacular fashion.

I remember when Colbert's "Truthiness" won a few years ago. So I think it can't be a current or commonly-used word up until that year.

I am nothing.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith."

kukukupo: I honestly don't get the whole Tebow hate for his praying during sport games. We didn't call it "Sandering" when Barry Sanders scored a TD and took a knee.

I think it's the whole Tebow Worship thing that people have an issue with. I know it's what bugs me... SO they've won some games since he joined. Big deal, the Arizona freakin' Cardinals streak like this all the time, they'll win 4 or 5 in a row, everyone will insist that this is "The Year", and they'll blow it. It even happened the year they went to the SB, they streaked at the beginning of the season, then fell apart and barely made it to the playoffs, streaked again, and then lost the SB... Same type of breathless wonder in people's voices over Tebow.

Myself, I was tired of him before I even knew who he was, thanks to that stupid 'Anti Abortion Super Bowl Commercial' bullshiat... Just throw the football, dude, you obviously need a little coaching on that anyway...

OK, I'm done ranting, but that is why I am tired of the Tebow Nation.

Well, it IS being used a little differently. It's still being used as a verb, but just stating the verb currently brings exactly what's going on into your head. Last year, you would have asked who was occupying whom, so I see it being used differently in a way.

Mikey1969: Same type of breathless wonder in people's voices over Tebow.

Welcome to the place I've been mentally for about 4 weeks.

Matt Moore and Andy Dalton probably have more potential to be long term assets to a football team in the QB position, yet you hear almost nothing of them. But in a more level-headed moment of clarity, I realized something. All of this current media stuff is simply the pendulum swinging the other way. I recall the utter mockery as the Broncos took Tebow in the draft as early as they did (which, IMO is still justified) and how no one thought he was going to do any good.

Now he's playing and the team is winning, it doesn't matter that the current winning isn't because of him but it's because the media loves a redemption story. The goody two shoes prayer boy thing on top of it is like icing on the cake, because deep down, people want to believe that there is a God and good things happen to good people.

But the media ball massaging of this guy has gotten to redonkulous levels. At this point, he's Brett Favre sans the accomplishments.

That does look really interesting.
I am kind of surprised it is written by somebody with a geology background. Seems like a linguist or popular historian would write that.
